What a wonderful evening and heartfelt service from the Mexican society. My partner and I enjoyed delicious dishes like chimichurri chicken, calamari, Flathead Frito, and prawn tacos. The calamari was super crispy and freshly cooked, with a nice kick from the chimichurri chicken. Having a Pina Colada was a lovely treat. The staff were incredibly friendly and caring. I accidentally left my mobile phone on a small bench, and a staff member kindly ran to return it to me when we had already crossed the road. Truly, the service and authentic Mexican food made the evening special. I highly recommend. 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Food is pretty good but the feed me is a bit of an adventure and to me things didn't mix or flow as well as they could have. Had a bit of an indian/asian spin to it also. Nachos and gucc, corn on the cob and slow cooked lamb with rice were excellent. Ribs were not bad but a bit sweet. Other items I probably wouldn't order again (octopus, duck salad). Beer was not ice cold either. All small things that could easily be improved. Good location, nice vibe and atmosphere inside and a good venue for a group - would go back but would pick items ather than do the feed me.
When my family and I first went to The Mexican Society, I was a bit disappointing. Things didnt go to plan and my opinion/review of the restaurant reflected that - the food was good, the service could have been better. The restaurant manager made contact and invited my family and I back for a second look. This time we went early on a Friday night. There was a very different atmosphere in the restaurant, more inviting and less rushed. Another table had a birthday event happening and staff made sure the happy birthday song was played throughout the restaurant. Our orders were taken quickly and everyone's food and drink arrived in good time. The staff were very professional and welcoming. My daughter really likes Mexican cuisine and wants to go back again. I enjoyed my meal too, but, it was not to everyone's tastes, be aware that it is slightly to very spicey. Not every dish is on the menu, be sure to look for specials posted on the walls near the kitchen and bar. Overall, I would recommend Mexican Society for anyone looking for a Mexican fiesta in Adelaide's CBD, just a short walk from the Adelaide Central Markets with parking nearby.
I’ve been here 2 years ago and everything was amazing. This time was disappointing, food was bland and not Mexican at all, and we paid $72 for 5 tacos and 1 entree duck nachos. So funny to have Mexican food in the restaurant run by Indian with Korean music 😂 Mixed feelings after all.
What a hidden gem of a place! Food was scrumptious, presentation amazing, service was impeccable and such a quant place. Definitely going back.
