When we first talked to Michelle I was convinced that her method, or really anyone's advice, simply wouldn't work for us. We had a unique situation that was unsolvable. Boy was I wrong. Michelle is kind, thoughtful and very knowledgable. She didn't make us feel minimized or ashamed of our mistakes, only reassured us that we would somehow get out of it. We had been victims of ID theft, had IRS issues, credit card debt and personal loan payments adding up. On top of a shaky employment situation, it didn't look good and we were afraid of losing our home. She turned it around in 3 sessions and had us learning about options that took away all our stress and got us out of the hole within 1 month. Not a cookie cutter solution but one designed to maximize value and minimize future expenses for our situation. She gave us tools, introduced us to the right people and we were on our way. Recently we had a check in session and she assured us that we were still on track and we feel able to match that confidence. Over the course of my lessons with Micheal, I learned how to grow and expand my life, strengthen my financial safety net, and effectively monitor my expenses. I can’t even explain how thankful I am for Michelle. Michelle helped me so much on how to gain control and understand my finances. I was never taught how to use and work with money growing up by my parents so I didn't really understand how to be strategic with how to budget, how to properly use credit cards, pay of loans or accrued debt, and save for the future. We went over everything - all my spending, charting exactly where I was overspending, truly understanding my relationship to money and finances. Michelle was so compassionate and supportive throughout the whole process because it can be so daunting and uncomfortable to visibly see, let alone allow someone else to see, all the things I was spending money on. However with the help of Michelle, I feel so much more comfortable with making decisions on how to intentionally spend and save. I am feeling confident with how things are organized and I look forward to my financial self care days - this is something I thought I would never say!
