I love farmers markets, but this one has such a genuine community feeling. Fresh produce everywhere, friendly local vendors, and the kind of baked goods you can smell before you even see the booth. Everyone seemed happy to share stories about how they make their products. It’s a perfect Saturday morning spot.
My idea of a slow Saturday morning is getting up drinking coffee then head out to this farmers market. Everyone is so friendly. If you stop with a question about a product they are selling, you leave a happy customer! The booths are well organized! From bees wax, fresh flowers, sourdough bread to fresh fruit, salsa & banana pudding snacks! They have it all!
This is more than a farmer's market. It's much bigger than in our past visits. Full on multi-street outdoor event. All kinds of vendors, food trucks, music, drinks, crafts, flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables. Very family and pet friendly. Plan to spend multiple hours at this one.
The midtown farmers market is a must do at least once on a Saturday morning. Every Saturday morning 8am - 1pm vendors take over five blocks with the heart of the market on K and 20th. The market is full of food, drinks, fresh produce, clothes, trinkets, plants, artwork etc. and you are bound to find something you like. It is perfect for walking around with your friends, family, or by yourself. I love coming here and then walking around the neighborhood to try different coffee shops after. The market is perfectly located near tons of other small businesses and restaurants that you should add to your list of places to check out. The market does get very busy, it is least busy early in the morning and I would say most busy between 9:30-12:30. The market has been ranked #1 in California and #3 in the US which is really cool! Definitely come for the experience at least and support some local businesses and the greater community!
I wanted to love going here so much it has everything you want in a farmers market and then some and it's so busy and vibrant. The food is just the beginning, the music ,the artists, all the different vendors. It's really a beautiful market to walk through if there were no other people. I am disabled and use a walker when I do things the might require more walking then usual for me, and everyone I encountered from the general public here were extremely rude. Several even pushing me out of the way, one pushing me into my walker hard enough to make me bleed. I experienced multiple instances like this throughout my hour and a half visit. People not letting me get onto the sidewalk, cutting in front of lines, claiming my food order even. I hope this behavior by many is not the new way of the world. I have never in my life experienced to many ill-mannered people in one place. It was insane. I did get several vendors cards and will order online. I expected parking to be an issue, but it really wasn't. We found plenty. Do better Sacramento.
