I hired this attorney to handle a very straightforward matter — negotiating and finalizing child support and making minor adjustments to a divorce decree. It should have been simple paperwork and filing. Instead, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. After paying a $3200 retainer, there was constant back-and-forth over small corrections that were never properly completed. Despite repeated requests, even basic edits to the decree were not handled correctly. Eventually, my wife and I agreed to finalize everything just to move forward and asked the attorney to simply file the decree. Rather than completing the filing, the firm withdrew from my case without notice. I was never informed that my retainer was running low, never provided an itemized billing statement, and was still charged an additional $1,300. The decree was never filed, leaving me still legally married after months of work and thousands of dollars spent. I expected clear communication, transparency with billing, and completion of the agreed services. Unfortunately, none of those expectations were met. I would strongly recommend others carefully consider these issues before retaining this firm.

I want to start by saying that my attorney was Chelsi Moore (thankfully). Originally, I thought that I was hiring Modern Family Law to do a rather simple Modification to current orders and it wasn't until we had our initial hearing where the judge says to move forward with the case you're bringing before the court that we did not have a simple case. In fact, due to the lack of professionalism and work of the last attorney I had hired, Chelsi really had her work cut out for her. Even the Travis County Court was shocked to see that this case has been open for SEVEN years with me just trying to get a modification to keep my little one safe. Chelsi Moore is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, patient attorneys that I have ever had the experience of working with and I can confidently say so because she was the fifth attorney that I had hired to work on this case.
