Great and friendly service. I got free coffee and biscuits and my puncture was repaired very quickly and at an excellent price of £20 even though the wheel was seized to the shaft and it took a lot of hammering and sweat to get the wheel off. I was having a bad day today and the service and friendliness there cheered me up. Just an update. I went again to Modern Tyres in Boucher Road 14 January. This time I wanted a battery replaced. Niall told me the battery was fine and there was no charge so I was saved that cost. As my car was stalling they kindly had a look at the engine and diagnosed the problem and sorted it out for me. As I had already been to a local garage that couldn’t diagnose the problem this was such a great relief for me. So once again… I was saved by the guys at Boucher Road. They went above and beyond to sort out my problems so a big thanks to John, Niall and the young mechanic. And great coffee!
Guys were really fast and helpful. Had an issue with locking nut and they sorted out and were really reasonable on the price. Will defo be using them again.
Got 4 wheel alignment done here: it was miscalibrated at first but when I took it back the next day, the guys here had no problem fixing it for me - and now it’s better than ever. :-) Lovely job in the end. Thank you
Called in today with a nail in my tire expecting to need to new tire fitted. Nail was removed and tire checked and by some miracle the tire was fine and not leaking. Very honest and helpful staff and they did it free of charge! Will definitely be using their services in future.
Extremely Disappointed with Service I visited Modern Tires on 10 November 2025 for a simple wheel balancing on my recently purchased Mercedes-Benz 180, and the experience was very disappointing. During the process, the technician broke my Mercedes wheel lock key while removing the locking nuts — it became jammed and is now unusable. Although the staff refitted the nuts so I could drive away safely, I was told to visit an external specialist to have the locking nuts removed and to buy a new key before returning to finish the job. On top of that, I later noticed scratches on my alloy wheels that weren’t there before. Now I have to pay out of pocket for the removal service and replacement key, all because of damage that happened during their service. I expected better care and responsibility from a professional workshop. Very disappointed — I wouldn’t recommend Modern Tires based on this experience.
