Very nice spot for breakfast or brunch with a spacious patio, both covered and uncovered. The couch seating with coffee tables is great for chatting over coffee and gives the place a cute vibe, though it’s not practical for eating. The coffee drinks are phenomenal, and I love being able to see the staff preparing the food. Unfortunately, line management could be much better, larger parties may wait while multiple parties of two are seated, and service is slow once seated, often requiring multiple requests for basics like water or silverware. Prices are reasonable and the food quality is great, but portions are very small. Overall, a nice place, but fairly average due to service and portion size.
This place is my new go-to brunch spot! I definitely understand the hype and why they have a long line during the weekends. I’ve been here both during the week and weekend for brunch and this cafe has never missed; the birria breakfast burrito is so flavorful and delicious, and the apple pie matcha latte is a great fall seasonal drink! The French toast was also super yummy and a perfect sweet treat. There’s both outdoor and indoor seating; honestly it’s whatever is available as they get pretty busy, but the service is friendly and you get your food within a decent amount of time. I’d recommend going early for brunch on the weekends or later in the day, unless you don’t mind a 30 minute or so wait. The food is definitely worth the wait though! Have recommended this place to all my friends and co-workers.
It was a calm Monday morning, and I was really craving a nice breakfast/brunch vibe. My partner and I ended up choosing morning lobby after seeing a ton of hype for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I believe it was much too overhyped. This is the type of place that wants to be all that, yet it lacks certain little details. There was a clear vision with the place, but lost in the grandiose of that vision are the details that distinguish and define a restaurant. The silverware was not very “fancy” feeling. The dishes were just plastic and cheap feeling. The food was good, but relied too much on oil/fat for the flavor (I would rate the food a 4/5). The drinks were also a little lackluster and misleading. An apple pie matcha should have more than just cinnamon and a dried apple slice to account for the “apple pie” flavor. Moreover, I always feel bad for restaurants where the staff are working their tails off while the owners are just lounging around doing nothing. Understandably, the restaurant wasn’t slammed but it was still decently busy. However, there are the owners just strolling around trying to look busy by rearranging the number placards by the register. I hate when a restaurant feels fake and pretentious. There was minimal attention to detail at this place and I feel bad for the staff that are working hard with what they have.
We visited Morning Lobby for a family brunch last weekend and really enjoyed it! Nice place, great food, and friendly service — definitely one of the better brunch spots around. The coffee is excellent — especially their pour-overs, highly recommend trying one. Food presentation was top-notch, though the condiments with the burrito came in a plastic to-go box, which felt a bit out of place given how well everything else was presented. Seating is limited and the place gets quite crowded on weekends, so it’s not ideal if you’re planning a long, leisurely brunch — but for a tasty, vibrant meal out with family, Morning Lobby hits the spot.
Update 10/24/25: Tried the classic egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with avocado this morning for the first time. Yum! That bread so crispy and soft at the same time and tastes like a croissant and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Will definitely order this again 😁 Morning Lobby on Almaden Expressway has been my go-to spot pretty much every week since they opened. The Vienna latte is my favorite. It is sweet with just a little salt on the cream and so good I could eat a cup of it on its own. The food is solid too. I have had the tater tots, avocado toast with a poached egg, and the Nutella French toast. Friends tell me the burger and breakfast burrito are really good as well. Even if the line looks long, it moves fast and the orders come out quick. The staff is always friendly and says hello with a smile, which makes the place feel really welcoming. It is a cozy spot that has become part of my weekly routine. In fact, I was just there yesterday and thought I should leave a review on Google to let others know how great this place is. Be sure to try the Vienna latte! Pro tip: get it to go so you can enjoy the cream from the lid when it’s done… and don’t mix it when you get it! Drink the coffee through the cream 😁
