The guys show up to snake the main drain. Right away I'm told they can't use the floor drain because it's too small. Even though for 65 years everyone has used the floor drain. I was told they need a three inch pipe and the only one was were the toilet set. So it will be $150 to remove and reset the toilet then the $95 ti unclog. I said I'd remove the toilet, a was also told to turn off the water to the house because there wasn't anywhere to just turn off the toilet. There is a valve right behind the toilet, I asked him if he saw it, he said yes but didn't know if it worked. I closed it and it worked fine. They snaked the line and said they got to the street. I asked if they turned the water on, I was told no because he didn't know if the valve behind the toilet was actually going to work. So he snaked the whole distance without any water flowing to clean out what was cleared from the pipe. Also on the will right next to the sink in the laundry, where the floor drain is, like every house around here, and many other, there is a three inch pipe with the plub right there. Was I happy with the whole experience, not one bit. To me, the flat $95 is a hook-up to get people to call, then all of a sudden there is another $150. Im glad I said I'd do it. Next thing would have been this one is difficult or that doesn't include the wax ring, we need to add that. He said he got out to the street, I hope he did. I don't doubt his word, but who knows. But I do know nothing was washed out during the process. Not much more to say.
