A true rendition of Korean Buddhist architecture set in a tropical Pacific landscape — the contrasts are striking. Ornately hand-painted soffits and rafters are a visual feast. $5 suggested donation per person when entering the Gate of Four Heavenly Kings. Though a bit frightening in sight, they are believed to be guardian deities with the purpose of protecting the temple and its followers.

Very well keeps and always open to welcoming all to visit. We were so blessed with our first time visiting the temple when here in Hawaii for attending our be loved auntie who was passed away at 90yrs. Hearing his chanting from far away, that made us like the good, blessings omens . Thank you for your kindness, we were introduced to the Abbot and had small conversations with him . Feeling his full energy and peaceful we were allowing to come in the Drama Halls with all the beautiful art works . Have been so many temples throughout the USA, Japan and Korea, we were very happy to see this temple is belong to the Hawaii islands. Free lunch is served daily for free.
