This is the third time I've been here for nail trimmings with my chihuahua/dachshund mix. The staff is very friendly and caring and their prices are reasonable. They are very careful and efficient with my Lola who is older. I was in and out in less than an hour. I also treated Lola to a special froyo they have on hand for our pups. Love this place!
I’ve been bringing my dog to Mud Puppies for a while now without a single issue—until my recent call with Becka. I had an upcoming appointment that I needed to cancel because I needed to find a new groomer. I even told her politely that I was sad I’d have to look for a new groomer. Instead of professionalism, Becka decided to lecture me by repeating—three times—that my dog’s vaccines were “expired.” Yes, Becka, I heard you the first time. And when I told her I had already found a new groomer that only required rabies, she doubled down with, “So they’re going to take your dog with expired vaccines?”—in the most condescending tone possible. For the record, the American Veterinary Medical Association recognizes distemper/parvo as valid for 3 years. That’s science, not opinion. Now, I realize many vets still put a 1-year reminder on vaccine schedules. But let’s be honest: that practice benefits clinics financially far more than it benefits our dogs. Over-vaccinating isn’t about good medicine—it’s about keeping clients coming back. Responsible owners who understand current veterinary guidelines shouldn’t be penalized for declining unnecessary procedures. For those of us who are well-informed and educated about our dogs, do yourselves a favor and stay far away from Mud Puppies. Their staff is condescending, dismissive, and clearly not operating with your dog’s best interests at heart.
We worked with Taylor on something new for our golden doodle, my husband wanted a mullet on her but I couldn’t stand her being so ugly but we tried the mullet since hair grows back. It ended up looking super adorable and still somehow feminine for our baby girl. Thank you so much!
I brought my pup, Dr Watson, here for almost two years before we said goodbye to Austin. This was his favorite place in town. The atmosphere is clean, they take good care, and their current groomer always did a great job. I've recommended Mudpuppies to friends all over north Austin. Would definitely recommend for day play, grooming and boarding.
We took our 6 month old Goldendoodle to Mud Puppies for his first haircut and had a wonderful experience. The scheduling process was easy we were able to get him in quickly. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. He had Megan as his groomer and she was great! She spent 10 minutes with me before his haircut to make sure she knew what we wanted and provided information about the process. We didn’t have super high expectations because it was his first haircut but Megan did an outstanding job and he looked so much better than we ever expected. We will definitely be back and have already recommended them to several friends.
