Our son (9) and daughter (5) have the joy of taking piano lessons with Ms. Tamara, and she is an absolute gem in our lives! I’m astounded at their skills as a direct result of her passion, talent for teaching, joy, heart, and dedication to them and all of her students. She is much more than a piano teacher to us- a bright spot in our week with her infectious enthusiasm and encouragement going beyond piano. Our daughter has also enjoyed the early ballet classes here starting when she turned three. All of her teachers have been encouraging, engaging, fun, dedicated, patient, and wonderful with little ballerinas. Thank you, Ms. Isa, for your gentleness and innate joy and love for kids and dance! I also appreciate how organized everything is here within a supportive and welcoming community. Ms. Tami, Ms. Maria, Ms.Trish, staff, families, and students have welcomed our family with genuine warmth, joy, support, and a sincere desire to see our children thrive within this beautiful community! Thank you, Tucson Music, Dance, and JOY Academy!

My dad took up piano lessons here as a hobby in his elder years, and the staff and his instructor were very welcoming to this non-traditional student. Being able to connect with music, interact with his teacher, and work on motor skills and dexterity were additional benefits that aided my dad with his Parkinson’s symptoms. Much gratitude to his instructor, Mr Santacruz, for his patience and encouragement.

My daughter did the trial period for piano lessons. I attended her lessons and ended up taking lessons myself. I know a few other parents who did the same. Ms Tamara is an amazing teacher.

Our kids have attended different classes over the years from virtual music Funtime, preschool dance lessons to now piano lessons. We have had a great experience. The staff is responsive, prompt, and accommodating. The kids enjoy the classes. They have a fantastic recital opportunities that give our kids a chance to learn how to perform in large and Small settings. We have recommended them to friends over the years and will likely continue to take lessons there as our kids switch instruments.

My son was enrolled at Music & Dance Academy on Sunrise for three years under the guitar teaching of Mr. Lich. His frequent recitals gave my son and his peers the opportunity to build confidence as they performed among family and friends. That confidence was elevated as all the students get to perform annually at the U of A. Ms. Tammy is very communicative with the parents, and her ability to orchestrate so many students and teachers is wonderful. Even after we moved to Sahuarita, we continued to make the 45- minute drive to his classes because it was worth it. This school really cares about each student's success every step of the way. I highly recommend it!

I’m a busy professional in my 40’s that works from home and I love taking piano lessons at the academy. Although I started as an adult, and have played for several years, I felt that my growth stalled. I’ve been studying with Tamara for one year and I’ve progressed rapidly. She’s congenial and knows how to work effectively with adult students. I have a variety of engaging repertoire, skill building exercises, and several opportunities to perform and play. I always look forward to my lessons and the growth and fun that comes with them.
