I recently visited the National Medal of Honor Museum, and I was completely blown away. This museum exceeded every expectation I had. The experience is immersive and interactive, making you feel present in powerful historical moments—from Medal of Honor ceremonies to stories rooted in courage on the battlefield. What truly sets this museum apart is that it doesn’t focus on war, but on courage, sacrifice, and character. The interviews and voiceovers are deeply moving. I left feeling emotional, inspired, and profoundly proud of our Armed Forces. I was so impacted that I purchased a membership before even finishing the entire museum. This is not a place you rush through—it deserves time and reflection. The docents and guides were outstanding: extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and clearly proud of the artifacts and stories they help preserve. One especially meaningful aspect was learning about Medal of Honor recipients who were born in Latin American and European countries and later became U.S. citizens. Their devotion to the United States and its values is incredibly humbling. We are truly blessed to have a museum and memorial of this caliber here in Arlington, Texas. This is a powerful, moving experience and an absolute must-see for everyone.
Words cannot describe how amazing the new National Medal of Honor Museum is! The architecture is unique. The self guided tour is very detailed and the displays vary from photos, artifacts, audio, video and even a Virtual Reality Experience. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and helpful as well. An honorable bucket list check for sure!
One of the finest museums we’ve visited. Well worth the time. The Virtual reality Dustoff experience is so real, as you go through 2 rescue missions! The exhibits and the interactive interviews are very touching.
Absolutely amazing! The sheer story and imagery in this museum is emotionally overwhelming. Hearing the stories from those who walked and lived the tumultuous times, provides a new prospective on life as we know it and certainly respect. This museum has a gift shop and café. Don't forget to experience the "dusting". Also, take pride with every stride by taking the stairwell. Thank you to all who have, will, and do serve so that I may have the amenities of life. Freedom is not free.
Tom Starr is truly the best tour guide — a stand-up guy who made our entire experience 10/10. Even as someone with minimal knowledge going in, I found the museum both interesting and informative. The visit begins with a 360° short film that immediately pulls you in. The building itself is a stunning modern design with a circular style that’s easy to walk through and explore at your own pace. One of the highlights for me was the modern technology woven into the experience — especially the VR helicopter rescue mission, which was such a fun and immersive addition! Overall, the staff was awesome, the exhibits were great, and the scenery around the museum made the day even better. Highly recommend!
