My 9 year old son absolutely LOVED Neuron Garage. We signed him up for one week, and on Thursday he asked if he could do another. Skyler was great as were the counselors. We will be back next year!
See my note to the Neuron Garage team: Team, just wanted to send a note that my son is having a great time at Neuron Garage! Admittedly we weren't sure how much he'd like it because he is super passionate about sports and that's where he thrives (basketball, soccer, baseball) but he has been so excited to show me what he's built. He even wanted me to walk into the classroom to show me his city. I've been trying to balance out sports with things that are more academic-related, particularly anything that could be related to physics. Thus we'll plan on sending him and his younger brother there for at least part of summers going forward.
My kids have a great time at NG every summer, and this is our 3rd or 4th year there. Last night while driving home, my 10 year old commented "I love going to neurongarage so much every year." Director Zainab is a positive guidance and leadership at the camps. She has thoughtful conflict resolution, engaging interactions, and really great communication with the parents. She makes a big impact for us.
This is my son's favorite camp of all time! We enrolled him in a variety this summer, and while all have been great Neuron Garage is really, really special-- and in my opinion the best of the lot. This is also due to the type of kid I have, who loves building, art, and imaginative construction. If your kid is into those things, look no further. The teachers are so wonderful in helping to inspire the kids but predominantly letting their imaginations take hold. For example, during Neuron Garage's Space Week, my son built an an entire alien city, as well as several rockets, helicopters, and other "UFOs," out of a mishmash of recycled material. Having him put it all on the kitchen table and explain it all to us, every purpose and function, was SO much fun! As an adult of, ahem, mature age, I sometimes forget how incredibly creative and innovative children naturally are. Neuron Garage does an AMAZING job of reminding us all, and letting the kids' imaginations create truly magical things.
Our 7 year old daughter LOVES Neuron Garage! As she describes it, "it's like school ... but more fun!" She's learning a ton and gets to be creative which is when she really blossoms. She also is really enjoying her time with the other students. It's a great program!

Where young imaginations build amazing worlds through creative construction and STEM exploration.
