Welcoming, comfortable, fabulous selection including books by local authors. One of my favorite things is the way staff picks are presented. Such a variety and the insights are thoughtful and offer enough depth to have an accurate feel for a book. I read a bunch and one stood out as highlighting a pace and aesthetic I prefer, so started reading and immediately connected. It's fantastic when a bookstore is really about introducing guests to stories! Had a great conversation during checkout. Thank you, Next Chapter, I'll be back.

I really like this bookstore. Great selection, fabulous recommendations, and if they don't have it, they can order it. Supporting independent book stores feels great!

A very inclusive and welcoming bookstore just across the street from Macalester. They have a well curated selection of books to peruse. According to their website they host a few book clubs, including a manga bookclub for all the Twin City otakus out there. Apparently (I cannot confirm as I did not actually bear witness) there is a cat named Honya that dozes in various places throughout the store as well.

I came in to see the books and got some nice shots, recommend if you are in the neighborhood, breadsmith is next door and bar cart for drinks.
