Mark is a most excellent person to work with. If you have bamboo needs he is DEFINITELY the guy to go to! Makes it real easy to meet him by setting up an appointment. Also will save you SO much time not having to go way north to other bamboo places that charge the same or even more (and are far less awesome to deal with 😁, Mark is such an excellently enthusiastic human about what he does)

What do I know about bamboo ??? Nothing. I genuinely thought I would drive to HD or Lowe’s and pick up some bamboo. Little did I know that it’s way more involved. There are over 2200 types of bamboo. Clumping vs. Non / heights that vary wildly/ etc. I was trying to mach golden goddess bamboo but I needed it to grow 20 feet. I’m so glad I found Mark and 9th Ward Nursery. He is the bamboo expert in the Deep South. He is the editor of the official bamboo publication. I arrived Saturday AM and was unsure what I would be getting. After chatting with Mark for 20 minutes … he steered me in the right direction. He loaded my truck and helped me tied the bamboo down. If I was within 200 miles… I would have no reservations driving to see Mark and buy bamboo from him at 9th Ward Nursery Highly recommended!!
