I came here for the five hole disc golf. Probably okay in the summer if you come here after 6:00 p.m. the kids g after school program from 4:00 to 5:30 maybe ,6 pm. not exactly certain when the kids get picked up but you could probably play three or four holes and you just can't do the whole course where the kids are playing on the soccer field after 4 p.m.
Great clean facility, tons of parking, electric car charging stations.
A well maintained recreation center. Thank you City of Austin!
this place is fine but the counselor derious is such a bad counselor. he picks favorites and it so unfair. he creates new rules when he has already stated his rules. PLEASE FIRE HIM. i can’t stress this enough. he yells at the campers. he is always grumpy and never listens to anything you say. he is always gone and disappearing when you need him. he body shames and gives privileges to those who are smaller or skinnier. and he wouldn’t give snow cones to the children who earned them. also they lied about a medical emergency when forgetting to add the fact that the kid was cut with a KNIFE and FAINTED. i feel like that is an important detail.
I hadn’t even realized how cool neighborhood recreation centers are until my daughter started attending the free Totally Cool Totally Art classes twice a week. Wonderful classes. They even get to learn the art of cooking Dow a few of the classes. The center is convenient to the surrounding neighborhoods so it’s a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike from our home. My daughter does art with wonderful teachers, meets young artists from all over Austin and shows her art at the Daughtery Arts Center and the Mixtec a few times a year. We are enjoying the work she creates there, the other kids stuff is mind bending too. Some of them are friends now. This is only one terrific program. The summer camp was unbelievable. My kid loved it. There are basketball teams, yoga, rock climbing, free movies, martial arts and tiny kids classes too. There’s usually some events going on to bring the family to. Everyone who has access to this place is lucky. We are.
