We went to the Oita Soho restaurant London Chinatown on Friday 23 and Sunday evening 25 of january 2026. I was there with my eight-year-old son. We had a wonderful time: we had dinner with Gyudon, Chicken Katsu Don and felt extremely comfortable. On the second evening, we ordered Oita Style Karaage, Chicken Katsu and Tonkatsu Curry. The staff were exceptionally kind, and one waitress spent time chatting with us, talking both to me and to my child. She was curious to know if my son liked the food and about how the word “yummy” could be translated into Italian, and I told her it meant “Gustoso” or “greedy” very greedy, very tasty (molto buono, molto gustoso). It was a truly lovely moment, we felt very welcome, and we cannot wait to return to London to repeat the experience. It is highly recommended, and I hope many people read this review, go and eat there, and enjoy the same experience at Oita Soho London Chinatown.
This is a great Asian restaurant in a central location in the West End. It was very busy so I’m glad we booked, would recommend to do so to avoid disappointment. The waiting staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We opted for the Super Deluxe sushi plate which was absolutely delicious. The chicken karaage was one of the best I’ve had. We also had soft shell crab which was very flavoursome. The star was the Tuna Toro, it just melted in your mouth. The Oita lager is worth a try too! All in all this was a great dining experience and I thought was very good value for money considering the location, standard of food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
This was my first time at OITA Soho, and it was very, very good! I wanted to treat myself to some quality sushi and this restaurant came highly recommended. It was easy to dine here solo. I had a curated sushi platter consisting of: wakame su salad, seared salmon belly nigiri, seared hamachi nigiri, the flaming beef roll, the California dream roll (with actual crab meat on top instead of in the roll - yum), karaage, and the raspberry trouble cocktail. All delish and I'll be back for sure!
Tasty food, the prices were very decent. The service was super nice. It was my wife’s birthday and the waitress brought a candle with some mochis. I’d definitely come back again. Great ranges menu!
Oita Restaurant offered an outstanding dining experience that made my birthday truly special. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, far exceeding my expectations for the evening. The atmosphere was warm and lively, creating a relaxed environment perfect for celebrations or just a great meal with friends. Service was attentive and friendly, making the whole evening even more enjoyable - highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine and a memorable night out in London.
