My 15 year old daughter has been taking bass/guitar lessons with Mac for a little over 3 years and she loves it! She also did Summer Jam for the first time this year and is now doing After School Rock. It has been such a great experience to be able to play in a band and in front of an audience. She recently auditioned to play bass at church and nailed the audition. Thank you to Mac and everyone at OMA for preparing her so well!

I started playing guitar when I was nine years old, on a whim more than anything. I was a kid who had a lot of energy without a lot of places to put it into, and from our very first lesson, Mac put me on the path towards being able to express myself and learn in an environment with abundant advice and tools to succeed, but an even balance of support in moments where expectations of progress weren’t met. Mac improved my guitar playing in a remarkable amount of time, and by the time I was almost eleven, I was ready to participate in OMA’s Summer Jam program. Christmas comes in the Summer in terms of the program - there are six weeks of rehearsals with a band of peers, all culminating in a performance at Tulsa’s historic Cain’s Ballroom. I participated all the way until the summer after I graduated high school, and I cannot emphasize the impact that the program has had on me, not only from a performance skills-building angle, but also in terms of providing a solid list of accomplishments for my college applications. Rehearsals were also a blast - I’ve met some great friends during Summer Jam rehearsals, and only at OMA will you find a guitar teacher who can whip out a backing track in a matter of minutes, AND a drum teacher who shreds on one hell of a Les Paul. Now, I’ve just finished my first semester at the University of Oklahoma (boomer sooner!), and I’m about to link back up to continue virtual lessons with Mac. The impact that he and Dustin have had on my life as a musician, creative, and overall person cannot possibly be overstated, and I can’t possibly imagine a better set of teachers, friends, and mentors. Mac and Dustin, thank you for what you’ve created, and thank you for tirelessly continuing to foster creativity and expression in youngsters in an environment where they can succeed and fail safely. Long story short, send your kids to OMA!!!

This is the best place for music lessons. They have been in business for 18 years and instructors are exceptional. They just don’t teach, they really prepare you for the future if you wish to have a career in music. The Summer Jam Concert at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa is also a place for all students participating after weeks of classes at OMA performs their best talent. It helps with their confidence in preparation for the world outside their own homes. I have never been so satisfied. You seriously get your money’s worth.

My four children take lessons from Mac, Dustin, Mary and Hayden at OK Music Academy and we are extremely happy with the quality of music education they receive. They all look forward to their lessons each week. Two of my kids also participated in Summer Jam this year and we were super impressed with the talent of the older kids. We highly recommend!
