The best zoo I've ever been to. So many areas to see and i love that each part has its own building with unique features and animals. I've visited many different times of year and have not been disappointed at any time.
I grew up in San Diego and was a zoo pass holder most of my life so my standards when it comes to zoos is high. The Henry Doorly Zoo although different than San Diego is just as good and in some aspects better. We live a solid 6 hour drive away and purchased season passes because it's such a cool place. If you're ever in Omaha and have a day, make sure to visit the zoo.
I came to the zoo in the winter, and I recommend coming in the summer instead. The vast majority of the exhibits are closed due to the cold, and I think you'd definitely enjoy it more in warmer weather, or at least in an environment where you can walk around comfortably and enjoy everything. I saw many animals I had never seen before in my life, and I loved the nocturnal animal exhibit. I wish the animals in the desert area had more space; they look a little sad being so confined. The ticket prices seem super affordable to me, and I liked that we didn't have to wait in line to buy tickets and everything went quickly. It's the perfect place to come with family or friends. The parking lot is a bit small, but if you come during off-season periods like this, you'll definitely find a good spot not too far from the entrance.
We have visited this place in the month of October. Preety good weather luckily not so hot and cold. Just perfect. You carry food inside zoo. They have some food options too if you don’t carry anything but little expensive. Omaha Zoo is a really fun place to visit. There are lots of animals, and the areas are big and interesting to walk through. The zoo is clean and easy to get around, and you can learn a lot while having fun. My favourite parts were the big indoor exhibits like the jungle and aquarium. My kiddo loved the gorilla section, it’s so cool and nice. You can walk or take train. Its a good experience. Aquarium was pretty good with shark, big turtles and bunch of different varieties of colourful fish. Overall, it’s a great place for families and anyone who likes animals.
An amazing zoo in Omaha ! First is free parking which is something you don't see in many places. The entry fee is more than fair. The zoo is modern and extensive and has exhibits that I have not seen in zoos before. The desert dome is incredible as is the aquarium. There is a part of the zoo that features animals and reptiles that thrive in low light. It is made to look like the Louisiana bayou and is very cool. There were a lot of people but no area was over crowded. The concessions were good and the staff was helpful and informative. If you are in Omaha make the zoo one of your stops.

Explore a world of wonder with world-class exhibits and unforgettable animal encounters.
