This place is fine, but a little overpriced for the quality and quantity of sushi. I’ve had very expensive sushi that was great, and cheap sushi that was great. This was $100 for two people and only okay, not great. I did appreciate the electric Japanese toilets.

Visiting for the first time and the entire experience was exceptional. Top notch service with amazing food and ambience. I tried a sashimi platter and it was a work of art. The oyster I felt had a slightly fishy smell, but understandable that it had to be frozen and can't be fresh with no source closely. Overall, great experience and will come back again for sure.

My wife and I tried Omakase for the first time last night. It was nearly empty at 6:30pm on a Friday as we had got there right before the rush. We asked to sit at the sushi chef bar and were sat in front of our chef Fred. We greatly enjoyed listening to Fred tell us about various foods, fish, ingredients, etc while watching him assemble rolls that look more like art than they do food. His recommendations were fantastic and we enjoyed every single one of them. Fred made our experience truly special and we are very grateful for him. Everything we tried and ordered was phenomenal, it was definitely the best sushi we have had in Lexington. We had the gyoza, red snapper, yellowtail, tuna, pink flamingo roll, and limestone roll - all of which were exceptional. I would also like to recognize our waitress, Julia, who took wonderful care of us all night and was very kind and friendly. We can’t recommend the Palomar Omakase enough!

I must admit I had low expectations when a family member raved about this place. I've been burned by seafood in Lexington too many times and have traveled in Japan extensively and eaten lots of Japanese/fusion food in major cities. But my skepticism was misplaced; this was really good! I enjoyed everything. The classic rolls are quite composed and elaborate and our starters were tasty. Everything was fresh and bright. It reminded me of food you might find in Miami. The creme brulee was a lovely finish. The service was kind and attentive. And it's probably the best public bathroom in Central KY (lol, you'll see). Definitely will be a repeat visitor!

Get the Salsa roll. I've eaten tons of sushi over the years and that roll was one of the best I've had. Everything was good here, the Volcano roll was elevated and tastes great. Surf and turf was extremely good with the wagyu on top being cooked excellent. Also ordered the Umami Crab Verde which was on top of some great guacamole.
