I got my wedding dress hemmed and taken in. And they added a hook for my dress trail to tie into. The tailor was so kind, attentive and ensured I was comfortable. As there was a lot of detail in my dress along the side and I was worried it would look different but my dress came back absolutely perfect. They did an amazing job.

The professional team at Opal made my wedding dress look new again after it had been through a busy wedding day of running through gardens and crowds with drinks everywhere! They were very gentle with the fine lace and many layers of various fabrics. They even offered to sew fallen beads back onto the dress! My dress was returned to me in record time like it had never been worn before. My husband’s suit was the same story; it came back looking perfectly new, back to it’s ivory colour after a day of rough and tumble. I’ve trusted them with alterations and dry cleaning on many occasions, so when the time came for my wedding dress to be fixed and cleaned, I knew it would be safe in their hands.

I was referred here by my wedding dress store and had a great experience. Booking online was easy and my appointment was arranged quickly. I was nervous as my dress was silk and second-hand, but the alterations were done beautifully and a fray in the fabric was fixed perfectly. My partner also had his MJ Bale groom’s suit altered here and it fit perfectly after the first fitting with no further adjustments needed. We live on the South Coast, and they were very flexible in coordinating appointments so we could pick up both the dress and suit at the same time while in Canberra. Highly recommend for wedding alterations — professional, skilled and easy to deal with.

I got my wedding dress altered here and the service was amazing! I was in such a rush - having only just gotten the dress from the store and the wedding date upcoming - and I was able to book in on short notice and get the whole thing altered so fast. I had a lot of concerns about the fit but the team talked me through everything they would do and made sure I was comfortable. They also gave me tips on the day and advice on how to look after my dress. Will definitely be coming back - the dress fit me like a glove and the service was wonderful.

I got my wedding dress tailored at Opal Alterations in the Canberra Centre for our wedding in October 2025. They were so easy to work with and really took care of me. The changes they made to the dress were perfect and worth every cent! Will definitely be returning.
