One of my favorite book stores in the city! I could spend hours in here. They have books of so many different topics and for low cost. Also very big so you dont feel you are bumping into others. Workers are friendly and helpful!

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for a bookstore before, not because I don’t love them, but because a lot of them don’t leave an impact like this one did. I walked in and was blown away by the sheer amount of books that they had to offer. It just kept going. It was Insanely organized & I am pretty sure I heard the workers say that the majority of the books are donated books. Which is insane considering the titles and special book covers they had to offer. I left with three books and wanted to grab more. Love that they highlighted Hispanic Heritage Month must-reads. I recommend this bookstore to anyone who is visiting Chicago or is a local.

Most likely the best secondhand bookstore I’ve ever been to. At first, I didn’t realize the books were used ones as they were organized and curated impeccably. I ended up purchasing three from my first visit and will definitely come back in the near future.

Open Books is a book lover’s paradise, especially if you’re a fan of used books. This charming bookstore has an incredible selection of both new and used titles, with a little something for everyone. From classic novels to contemporary bestsellers, the variety is unmatched, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I was lucky enough to find a first edition of My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout, which was an absolute gem! The thrill of discovering rare and unique books like that makes this place so special. If you’re hunting for hidden treasures or just looking for your next great read, Open Books is definitely worth the visit. A cozy, well-curated spot that never disappoints! 📚❤️🧚‍♀️
