Most stuff was priced a bit too high for it's condition. Clothing we're mostly fast fashion stuff and the ones on sale are usually just junk. Also, restrooms are only for employees so automatic. Mind you they have a market, pharmacy, and clinic on site but no public restrooms.
Unfortunately, had a terrible experience at Out of the Closet. Me and my friend were looking to donate some furniture, so we called ahead and asked if they were accepting furniture donations. They told us absolutely, yes, we could drop them off. We asked what the process was like, if we needed to go somewhere specific or schedule a time, and the person on the phone said no, just bring the furniture by whenever. The only time we’d need to schedule something was if we wanted a pickup, which we didn’t. We made it very clear that we just wanted to drop off the furniture at their location, and he said no worries, bring it by and donate it. So we drove all the way to Out of the Closet, went to the donation center, and the person there told us they’re not accepting furniture because they’re full. We explained that we had literally just called five minutes earlier and were told to bring it by. He repeated that they were completely full. We told him he should probably let his staff member know, because that person told us to come. He went to talk to his manager and came back saying the staff member claimed he didn’t tell us that and that we needed to schedule a pickup. That is absolutely not what was said on the phone. We would not have driven all the way over if the staff member hadn’t told us to come. Overall, terrible experience at Out of the Closet. After reading through other reviews, being unprofessional, rude, having miscommunication, and not knowing what’s going on seems to be a theme here. Maybe avoid this location and try other donation centers like Goodwill or Salvation Army
I just had to share my amazing experience at Out of the Closet, all thanks to a fantastic employee named Gustavo. From the moment my friend and I walked in, it felt different. Gustavo greeted us with a genuine smile that instantly lifted our spirits. As we browsed, it became clear that Gustavo wasn’t just there to do a job; he was there to make our day better. He approached us, asking if we needed help, and you could tell he really meant it. He listened attentively to what we were looking for and took the time to chat with us, making us feel like we were catching up with an old friend rather than just being another customer. What truly blew us away was how he went out of his way to help us find exactly what we needed. He suggested items that we hadn’t even considered, and his recommendations were spot-on! It felt so genuine, like he really cared about making sure we left happy. Gustavo even shared some background stories about the products that made our shopping feel more meaningful. By the end of our visit, we didn’t just leave with great finds; we left feeling uplifted and appreciative of the kindness we experienced. I’m genuinely looking forward to returning to Out of the Closet, and it’s all because of Gustavo. Thank you for reminding us that great service really does matter, and for making us feel like we mattered too!
Not sure which location this applies to, but since Hollywood is the closest, I’ll leave this here. I was honestly so excited to donate my furniture to such a great cause. But first, I get a call the morning of saying I have to reschedule because there’s no driver — and not for the next day, but almost a full week later. Then the day of the new pickup, I get a window of 11–2... and no one shows up until almost 3. By then, they say they can’t take my stuff because there’s no parking. Maybe if y’all had been on time, you would’ve caught the open spot that was right out front. I still believe in the mission and hope folks keep supporting it — but if you’re donating, just know it might be easier to drop things off yourself.
Very nice store. Lots of clothing. Prices aren’t cheap or expensive, but relatively clean.
