We recently completed our five weeks of Puppy Classes with our gentle little GSD Mona and we (dog and human alike) had an amazing time! The socialisation element was handled so well and it meant that the pups had a really good go at having plenty of positive experiences with other dogs, something you can’t always rely on whilst on walks. It was so satisfying and rewarding to see Mona being able to apply what she’d experienced in class to real life situations and the extra guidance we received for our puppy specifically was really sound and has been so helpful in these early months. By the end of term, Mona recognised where we were going each Sunday and would pull and pull to get in she was so excited. Looking forward to continuing with the next stage!

Fantastic block of 5 1 hour puppy classes. We learned so much and I think a lot of it was training us how to behave with our dog. Julie gave us some great strategies about how to manage some behaviours but always in a positive way. She clearly had an empathy with all the puppies in the class. I’m looking forward to the follow on block of classes.

Julie and her assistants obviously know and love dogs really well. She has helped me and my wee sausage puppy immensely. She gave me the knowledge and skills to train Roddy and build his confidence. She uses a reward based system with plenty repetitions and build-ons to consolidate and improve. The instruction which has had most impact (and has been admired by other dog owners) is "This way! " said in a high pitch voice. Roddy responds readily to this when out on the street and he was the only one of his dog friends who returned immediately when they were making a bid for freedom. His training has taught him to be calm when his food is being presented to him which means there is no danger of him knocking his bowl out of my hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Paws for Thought to every puppy owner. I

We had an amazing time at the 5 week Puppy Course Julie is professional, assertive and full of wisdom while making a fun and interactive experience over the 5 week block. My puppy found the class highly enjoyable and was able to grasp all the exercises we tried. She went out of her way multiple times to tailor the class to the puppies and giving me superb extra advice about separation. The classes feel safe and in control at all times with great help from Julie’s superb assistant Kirsten. Julie was great for sending recap info for practice outside the classroom that my wife and I really enjoyed practicing with our puppy round the house. We will 100% be back for the follow on classes. Thank you again Julie

Julie is incredible: she is kind, patient, informative and has an excellent teaching style. You know immediately that Julie genuinely cares for the little puppies in her class and wants to help you raise a happy, well loved and polite dog. We have used her training with our dog every day at home and when out. Particularly, Julie has taught us the importance of recognising our own and others' dogs' body language- crucial for interactions and keeping puppies safe and confident. I would thoroughly recommend her services.
