We had a terrific time at Perplexity Games. Our party of 4 (2 kids/two adults) booked an escape room- selecting Eliot Ness as our theme. It was definitely difficult (but thats the point) and we all got right into it. Clues were offered along the way (as was the option to select a different less challenging theme). Though we didnt end up solving it, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The set up was terrific and our 2 11 year olds had a great time as did the two adults. Highly recommend it!
This was my first Escape Room experience and I was apprehensive about how it would go because I had only ever had anecdotes from others to form an idea of what I would experience. The price for two people was around $80 on a Wednesday for two participants and the experience was roughly and hour long. The entrance to the facility is a little odd and feels like you are walking through an old store room with discarded wooden scraps everywhere and the waiting room is quaint but very sparsely decorated. We were greeted immediately by an enthusiastic and friendly professional who identified their role as Game Master and instructed us to prepare while they checked on the status of our room. After a short 3 minute wait we were given an outline of our room's scenario and our objectives therin, our GM did an excellent job of this, before being led to the door where we were let in to play. The room itself was well constructed and extremely immersive. The puzzles were fun and engaging and the atmosphere felt magical! The 'homemade' quality of all the equipment is what really surprised me and the craftsmanship was one of the best parts. The puzzles were 'difficult' in the sense that, with the time limit of an hour, you would struggle to solve them without hints but thankfully hints were provided however this is also my only point of contention. Though the hints were welcome I actually would have preferred they only be provided when I asked for them rather than when I spent too much time on the puzzle. It felt a bit less rewarding to solve it with the hint not being something I requested, but it was still very fun and I would recommend it to anyone. I wish there had been an option to tip my GM and I also would have paid more for a longer play session so I had more time to solve the puzzles without hints. Overall, 5/5, I will be seeing Perplexity again!
We visited Perplexity for a holiday team event and did the Naughty List themed escape room. We had a great time and found it to be challenging and fun. Luckily we received some helpful clues throughout the game and solved with 5 min remaining! I liked that we had a private room for the 4 of us and did not have to share with another group. The reason for the 4 stars is the restrooms were a bit dirty and old. Would be nice to renovate the restrooms and lobby area. Otherwise, was a great team event.
We had an absolutely incredible experience at Perplexity Games! Our group included 2 adults, 2 older teens (18 and 16), and 2 younger kids (11 and 9), and the room kept EVERYONE entertained, involved, and challenged the entire time. The game was extremely well laid out with clear progression, clever puzzles, and great attention to detail. Our game master was awesome—helpful, energetic, and really enhanced the whole experience without giving too much away. We managed to escape with just 2 minutes to spare, which made the finish even more exciting! Highly recommend for families, mixed-age groups, or anyone looking for a top-notch escape room in Cleveland. We’ll definitely be back!
Make sure you follow directions and enter under the blue awning...still a little creepy if you are by yourself. The stairs/hallway are quiet and empty w minimal signage so felt kinda eerie. However once I walked in, a very friendly worker greeted me and confirmed what activity I was there for. There is a waiting room and a single stall bathroom down a different narrow hallway, again a lot to desire in terms of it feeling welcoming. A worker did apologize for the "mess" as they are currently working on a new escape room. So maybe it was just timing of a first experience. My group of 8 did the Elliot Ness escape room, we were all new to the experience and it was a blast. Lots of fun ways to find clues and move on to the next phase. I liked that you were able to bring in your phone (since it wont help you, lol) and doors were never locked. We were successful at completing it which was awesome and would definitely go back for a new one. I do feel our group was a little too large, I know they suggest a 3 person min, unsure of a max but many people really didnt have much to do. I think next time I would opt for a smaller group of 3-5.
