I have been bringing my pup here for a few months now. George and Hunter are so good with him! Hunter has even taught Bear a few tricks! Bear gets his outside time with other dogs. They are sure to introduce them properly. I love that Bear is being socialized. We live out in the country so this is the only interactions that he would have. And Bear even comes home with new toys, every now and then. Thank you, George and Hunter for taking such good care of my fur baby!!
I loved this place, my dog used to be treated so well and personally had a family member working there until hearing she quit due to the owner's lack of "yelling at his staff" and throwing her into anxiety. My dog caught kennel cough after the rise of 7, 14, to 20 before they shut the place down. The owner is telling people that the reviews are fake, PLEASE do not believe this. My dog came home yesterday smelling of URINE, something that has never happened before. The owner is now getting members of his new staff doing "positive reviews".
I have been a customer of Pet Paradise (now “Paradise Lost”) for the past 2.5 years and until very recently, was very happy with the service this kennel provided. I always felt very comfortable leaving my dog in the care of the very competent and caring staff (Tara, Victoria, Paige, Isabelle, Emily, Owen etc), all of whom were well qualified. They knew dog behaviour and knew which dogs played well together in the play areas. They provided updated videos and pics on Instagram so pet parents could monitor our pets during the day. . Sadly, this is no longer the case. Things have changed drastically since mid October. All of the experienced staff have recently been laid off/fired by the owner or quit due to extremely toxic working conditions. They have been replaced with staff of questionable experience and capabilities, all in the middle of a kennel cough outbreak. I called the owner to express my concerns re the staff turnover, the uncontrolled kennel cough outbreak and the extremely poor condition of the large yard. Re the new staff, the only qualification the owner felt was required is that they owned a dog!!!!! Hardly a stellar resume. I removed my dog, Monty, from daycare on Oct 21 and put him in 10 day quarantine after he was exposed to active kennel cough. Fortunately, he did not develop kennel cough (probably due to the fact he had a recent infection in August 2025). However, I was very reluctant to take him back in as updates from the staff stated that over 20 dogs had become ill. They had asked the owner to close to get it under control and do a deep clean of the kennel. Initially he refused, but finally agreed to shut down for one week Nov 1-7. I later found out that the owner never actually closed down at all….he was allowing dogs in for daycare, overriding the staff decisions and since he had fired most of his staff, was training new staff with daycare dogs for the 3 days at the end of that week of shutdown!!!! Such an IRRESPONSIBLE decision. Subsequently, more dogs became ill after reopening, a very predictable outcome. The condition/cleanliness of the kennel itself has also really deteriorated recently. The dogs come home smelling awful, and the large yard has had no maintenance, leaving it a muddy mess. On Instagram, I saw a dog drinking out of the big mud puddle in the middle of the yard!!! How unhygienic is that? The puddle probably had fecal contamination and god knows what other parasites floating around in it. I spoke to the owner by phone twice about these issues, which he dismissed and did not take seriously. Instead, he initiated a prolonged rant/tirade about his staff….he was swearing, using aggressive language, disparaging and degrading the staff, blaming them for everything, and saying that the manager was “poison”. I have since heard about further examples of very toxic working conditions. The owner bullies the staff, is verbally abusive and also has been known to assault them by throwing objects at them. It is amazing that the staff acted so professionally, shielding customers from that behaviour from the owner, and always being pleasant and greeting us with smiles on their faces. The new staff have very big shoes to fill and I am not sure they are up to the task. Monty truly enjoyed his experience at Pet Paradise, up until early October 2025, and misses all his friends there. But he will not be returning to this facility, and I urge anyone considering taking their dog there for care to think twice. Run, don’t walk, away!!!!
I am writing this review with sadness and a broken heart. Our dog Murphy has been going to Pet Paradise and K9 Resort for over a year now. He loved this daycare and the wonderful staff that worked there. A month ago I would have given this Doggy Daycare a 5 star review. But things have taken a drastic turn for the worse there. The girls that worked there especially Tara, Victoria and Paige who I knew best treated Murphy and the other dogs with love caring and compassion. Murphy would get out of our car and jump into Tara’s arms when we arrived in the morning. She was efficient, hospitable and a very hard worker as were the other girls there. Never did I have to worry about Murphy. She would communicate to us if she thought he wasn’t feeling well, she would take pics of him having fun with the other dogs, post daily videos, organize cute little contests like the best doggy Christmas sweater contest, make sure the doggies got treats on Halloween and so much more. But with little or no notice, Tara, Victoria and other senior staff all left! A month ago Murphy came down with Kennel cough. I understand this can be a problem in any daycare setting. But the cases seem to skyrocket here.Tara would keep the parents informed. I think the daycare should have been closed for a couple of weeks as was Tara’s suggestion until this epidemic got under control. The cases surpassed 20 but it was not shut down for 2 weeks. It supposedly closed for one week but there were still dogs there in close contact with each other. The part that is the most upsetting is that there seems to have been a mass firing of all the trained qualified staff who were then replaced with new unqualified staff. This presents a very dangerous and unsettling situation. I can’t let our dog be in a situation that is unsafe or harmful. No dog should be in this environment! I miss the former staff more than words can express. The loss is immeasurable! For these reasons I can no longer recommend Pet Paradise and Doggy Daycare.
We are so disappointed to be writing this review. Dodger and Franklin have been attending daycare here for two-years. It’s been such a pleasure to have a place to send them where we knew they were loved and cared for. Franklin is very fearful and particular, so finding a place where we were confident sending him was a challenge. Things there have changed drastically in the last month, and honestly, we’d no longer feel comfortable sending our dogs there. In October it was reported that kennel cough was at the facility, which happens at almost all dog places. We understand that and appreciated that there was daily updates on cases so us as pet parents could decide what was best for our dogs. We decided to keep Dodger and Franklin home because our previous dog almost died from an infection caused my kennel cough. Our plan was to let it pass and then send them back when it was all clear. While we had them home we saw they were closing Nov. 1-7, which was a lie. They were still boarding dogs and suddenly the updates on cases stopped and so did the transparency. If you’re still hosting dogs in an outbreak, I’m sure they’re still getting sick. I went to message the daycare on Facebook to ask about the cases and discuss their return date, but suddenly messenger was deactivated. I thought that was both weird and inconvenient. We have since come to find out that nearly everyone who used to care for my dogs there had been let go. The literal heartbeat of that place was gutted. The people we trusted with the care of our pets were all replaced by those who didn’t have the same expertise/experience the old staff had. We weren’t sending them there just so they weren’t home, we were sending them there because of the people they spent their days with there. It was a difficult decision to not send them anymore as we truly loved the memories of the last two years, but we can’t in good conscious send our dogs to a facility where an illness outbreak isn’t treated promptly, seriously and with complete transparency. We are sad that Dodger and Franklin will be closing this chapter with Pet Paradise. We hope others are able to make the best choices for their pets to be happy, healthy and safe. Thank you to all the girls who have loved and cared for Dodger and Franklin over the last 2 years. And thank you for being such a big part in helping Franklin build his confidence. He’s come a long way in the two years he’s spent with you! We appreciate all you’ve done and wish you all nothing but the best!
