Server was great. Food was good. But the queso was pretty terrible. We love queso and look forward to getting it at every Mexican restaurant we go to but queso is usually silky and smooth. This was like a gloppy, mozzarella gravy with a few chilies added to it. I don't think it was just ours because looking at other pictures, you can see how the queso sticks to the sides of the bowl like a flour roux. We will not be ordering that again. 😞 As others have mentioned, the portions are smaller here and the prices are higher. This is the first Mexican restaurant I've been to where I haven't had to ask for a to go box. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind when choosing where to eat.

1st time stop in and won't be the last. We had wonderful food and Service! The family enjoyed the afternoon after a two day State Swim Meet to add fuel to my son's finals. Excited to come back and celebrate!!!
I Love Tacos
They have the Mexican vibe down pat. It's almost too much.. overdone, cartoonish. When the tiny portions come out, you quickly realize it's gentrified; meant for tourists, what a tourist thinksss a Mexican restaurant is. The food is ok. If you want authentic, real Mexican food, La Fuente in Meridianville is a bit of a drive but a greater bang for your buck.

We sat outside on the patio, with the nice weather. It was such a great dinner! The street tacos are so yummy and flavorful. The salsa and chips were good too. Chips are light and crispy. Salsa slightly spicy. So yummy!!!

We finally made it to Phil Sandoval's! We had dinner there tonight, and it was fabulous! Their chips and salsa are perfect because they have the really thin, crispy chips that are my very favorite! I had the Shrimp Tacos and they were yummy....housemade cole slaw with lime and avocado on the side.....and a tangy sauce on the shrimp that made it super tasty. My hubby tried the Pollo Loco Trio with shrimp, chicken and steak over Mexican rice and topped with queso sauce. It ws very good as well. The service was superb and quick, even though they were fairly crowded. They happened to be doing trivia tonight, although we didn't arrive early enough to participate. Extra Bonus points for the free ice cream at the end of our meals! Definitely recommend this place.
