Physical Therapy Today changed the way I look at attending a physical therapy class. I know when I go for my session, I will benefit from it. All the staff are compassionate, very knowledgeable and they obviously love their career choice. I am asked how my body responded to the previous session, they listen to my description and adjust the therapy if needed. The front desk greets me by name and is diligent with keeping me scheduled. Couldn’t ask for a better PT experience.
Following neurological spinal surgry for injury to the nerve, I headed on over to PTT, where they have helped me to avoid spinal surgery for many years, and also have assisted in strengthening two different knee injuries that kept me from climbing stairs and going on rocky hikes. I requested specific help for regaining balance and for leg muscle strength, which had both been compromised by the damaged nerve. I also needed body core strengthening for my lumbar spine. So we went to work. If I could see that my body wasn't going to perform a particular exercise, I'd try it, and then tell my helpers that it was not beneficial, and why I thought it was not a good idea for me, and they were quick to listen and to reasses the requirement, remove that therapy and insert another. There are so very many ways to get to a good solution! In August, I was unable to jump or run. I had no balance, because my right leg was not getting nerve signals properly from the knee down, and my left leg was just confused about where it was in space. Surgery restored the nerve impressively, but PTT put my legs back on track. I have exercises and stretches at home, and I have collected a few therapy items to help me to continue the training that PTT gave to me. In November, I could again run, jump, climb, and balance on one foot or the other, and can even balance with my eyes closed (now December)! No one has to stand beside me or behind me to hold on to me! I can walk normally and quickly, and am still gaining proper core strength. I have been a proponent of physical therapy for decades now, and I say again - if you've had an injury, or a surgery, go get physical therapy. If you have weakend aging muscles, go get therapy. Having seen different clinics for physical therapy, some that are one-size-fits-all, and others that leave you sitting and waiting for a therapist that is too busy or bored to help, or others that PUSH PUSH PUSH causing extra troubles, I can say... Physical Therapy Today is attentive, gentle, and geared to YOU, not just to a chart. My therapists continually ask how I was doing, and if what I was doing at the moment was helpful. It is a gentle and quiet environment. It is a HAPPY environment. All of us who are there are broken somewhere, but there is always cheerful banter and low-level fun music playing. Smiles are ubiquitous, and you feel rather like you are in with family (if your family is friendly and happy) - or maybe friend-group would be better. Usually the same patients come on the same days and times, so you do get to know people in your weeks or months of rehab. You also get to see each other making progress! Patients and therapists are mutually respectful. I have only heard one person complaining in my many years in their office, and it was a poor fellow who had been misused by several surgeons, and he was at his wit's end, on his very first time to PTT. He was scared and worried, exhausted and hurting. He was not upset with staff, he was just upset. I was impressed by the way his therapist continued to quietly soothe that man and to explain the therapy path - is was probably a good half-hour of patient over-anxt and calm confident therapist explaining and re-explaining. As far as billing and insurance processing and appointment setting, it can't be any easier - the process is streamlined and there are no surprises. Appointment times are plentiful, and there is great understanding if you can't make an appointment. I will go PTT again, without any hesitation, if/when I need help again. I recommended that my husband go there when he needed therapy, and they helped him. I frequently recommend PTT to family and friends, and I recommend them to anyone. PS: I will always have deficits because of injury and surgery, but PTT helped me to retrain around those deficits. It doesn't erase the trouble - it retrains the body - restrengthens the body - gives new ways to work around old troubles.
This facility has a team of kind, caring and skilled professionals. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, supported, and truly cared for by everyone including the office staff. My therapist, Cristina created a healthcare plan with goals to recover my fractured humerus. She took the time to evaluate and understand my specific needs. She thoughtfully customized every session to help me progress and reach my goals. My orthopedic doctor has been amazed at my tremendous improvement in both mobility and strength. The entire team of caregivers are professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly encouraging. My deepest heartfelt gratitude goes to each person who helped me return to my normal activities.
I have been extremely impressed with the staff and faculty at Physical Therapy Today in Garland Texas. I came in with a left knee replacement surgery after my knee was injured in a car accident. I was way behind on my PT because I could only do PT at home due to only walking with a walker for a month after surgery due to the injury trama plus the knee replacement surgery. Now I’m back to normal flexibility and strength and I could not have reached these PT goals without the team at Physical Therapy Today Garland! Sincerely, Rickey Gene Wright
Excellent therapists with Sarah and Alex. My neck was radiating pain down my arm. I have no more pain, additional strength and freedom of movement. I learned exercises to do at home to keep my progress in tact. Friendly, helpful and appreciated!
