Pier 39 is a beautiful and lively place to visit in San Francisco. It is always crowded, but the atmosphere is fun and exciting. You can see the famous sea lions, enjoy fresh seafood, and shop for souvenirs. The views of the bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge are amazing and perfect for photos.😎 Parking around Pier 39 is very expensive. To save money, I recommend parking a little farther away and walking about 10 minutes. NorthPoint Shopping Center (350 Bay St) is a good option with much cheaper parking. Overall, Pier 39 is a must-visit spot if you come to San Francisco. Great views, good food, and a lively atmosphere! 🥰
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Dining Experience on the Bay Louis is a true gem for anyone looking to enjoy Swiss, Italian, and seafood cuisine in San Francisco, on the Pier 39. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Our server, Connie, did an amazing job—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Her personalized attention, fantastic attitude, and knowledge of the menu elevated the entire evening. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the New York steak, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My brother had the spaghetti with seafood, which was fresh, generous, and beautifully prepared. Every bite reflected quality and care. Beyond the food and service, the cleanliness, atmosphere, and overall professionalism truly stood out. Dining by the Bay shores made the experience even more memorable. I happily give 5 stars for outstanding service, excellent dishes, and a warm, welcoming environment. I love this place and highly recommend it—please come and visit this wonderful San Francisco restaurant on the Bay shores! 🌊🍽️
Wonderful experience visiting Pier 39. It does get crowded. For first time visitors - 1. Plan to spend 2-3 hours here. There is plenty to spend time perusing through 2. There are some decent food joints, with drinks, and Ice cream shops 3. Few spots may need some stairs climbing 4. The sealions are the superstars of the show there
I've come here in the summer and winter. It's beautiful to walk around and admire the seals and sea lions. I love hanging out with my friends and family here as there's so much to eat, drink and activities to do. Would definitely visit again.
Sea lions, sunsets, and a lively boardwalk vibe Pier 39 is one of those places that instantly feels alive, a mix of sea breeze, music, and the occasional bark of a sea lion echoing from the docks. I didn’t need to buy any tickets in advance; the main attraction, the sea lions, are free to watch if you find a good spot by the water. It’s one of those simple yet memorable moments where you just stand there, camera in hand, and enjoy their lazy, sun-bathing charm. The pier itself is full of options, cozy restaurants, souvenir shops, ice-cream stands, and smoothie bars. I didn’t get to try everything, but everything I did try, from snacks to smoothies, was genuinely good. The staff were friendly and helpful everywhere we stopped, which made the whole experience even better. Nearby, there are a few attractions like the Ferris wheel and some boat tours that might require tickets, but they’re optional. Honestly, just walking around the pier at sunset already feels like an experience on its own. If you’re coming by scooter or bike, I’d recommend checking how busy it is first. Scooters are manageable, but on crowded days, maneuvering a bike could be tricky. All in all, Pier 39 is more than just a tourist stop, it’s a place to slow down, take in the bay air, and feel the pulse of San Francisco by the water. 🌅
