I don’t know if I’ve ever left a Google review, but I wanted to share my experience today, especially after reading some of the one star reviews. First of all, I can see how this can be an overwhelming shopping experience if you’re going into it blindly, or expecting a curated organized typical retail setting. This was a jam packed 10,000 sf warehouse where everything was affordable. I am a single mom who has always loved vintage, but often I can’t afford to buy it. This was not the case today. I left with a trash bag full of clothes, stuffed with over 20 of Stu’s tshirts. Are some of them stained? Sure, they’re well loved 30+ year old items. They were also somewhere around $5-$10 each. He even gave me a couple for free. I did grab a few things from the ~museum collection~ also. I also really wanted to compliment Amanda, the owner of Sweet Dahlia, for having such a stunning collection of plus size vintage. Woman to woman, it genuinely made me teary eyed to walk into a store as a size 16 woman and see racks of vintage clothing I could wear AND afford. I left with 4 dresses and two blouses. I would have left with so much more had the tshirt pile not been so large already. This is a real sincere thank you and hug for recognizing all bodies ♥️ Lastly, I want to comment on the negative reviews about Stu’s behavior toward customers. My observation as a first time shopper was this; this is a man who has made this business his life’s work. Everything is so fairly priced that shopping sustainably doesn’t have to be a privilege here. That, in itself, tells me that there’s a lot of empathy and love in that warehouse. Did I get fussed at for shopping the racks backwards? Absolutely 😂, but I did not take it personally and just chalked it up to this was a part of his personality, and a part of getting to be there. I didn’t see any rude behavior or attitude, at one point I turned around and he was literally dancing to the oldies with another first time customer. When shopping in the museum collection, I observed him talking with another gentleman that was working and being so genuinely kind that it was noticeable enough for me to pay attention. I think being eccentric and living a little on the fridge of society is what’s gonna save us. I will be back a thousand more times. Thanks for the hospitality.
I had a great time at Pixel 19! They had such good deals and an amazing selection of items. the owner was so very kind and welcoming to everyone. I hope to go back soon, it was a great environment and a great experience to have!
Such an amazing store! With the best deals. I had such a good experience! The owner is so cool! Literally helped me find such good pieces. You could literally spend all day in this store. I live in atl and I will absolutely be back. I’m happy I came, I have not stopped talking about it since it went. Thank you ❤️❤️
Excellent selection and Stu has the most knowledge about what he’s selling. All curated pieces for reasonable prices. Stu is a bit sassy, which keeps it fun! Don’t take any comments personally, he speaks freely. Come with a positive attitude and look up any questions before asking them. 🤷🏻♂️ I highly recommend. Thank you Stu for being great to us and sharing your wisdom 🙏🏻
I met Stu many years ago when I was a student. I was elated to come back years later with my family to find he had even more selection and the same awesome customer service. He made my daughter's one desire of going thrifting for her birthday an entire treat! From the serenade of "Happy Birthday" to finding her all time favorite artists' band tees, he made the experience unforgettable. His humor, knowledge, and vast selection makes Pixel my go to for vintage and thrifted apparel. When he says "Vintage King" believe him. You won't be disappointed.
