We were excited to work with this company based on the glowing reviews, but unfortunately they dropped the ball with us. Summary in case you don't want the details: great communication before wedding along with pleasant photographer and videographer (Nafaz and Dino). Poor color correction on edited previews and horrible communication after wedding. Still waiting for revised wedding pictures and five-minute video although we were married on 11/09. See pictures below that include one photo taken with a cellphone camera compared to the gray image edited by PKA. Many photos of our wedding party were also gray like this. Before our wedding, communication with LaRon (co-founder) was excellent. He responded to messages and a meeting request promptly. Shortly before our wedding, we did receive the same request to fill out a pre-wedding questionnaire twice but understand that sometimes things happen. (We filled out the form twice in case it was somehow lost.) During our wedding, Nafaz and Dino were our assigned photographer and videographer. Both were a pleasure to work with. After services were paid in full/post-wedding, we were then put in touch with a different person (an account specialist). This is where the miscommunication and unprofessionalism began. After our photos were taken, a completely different team edited them, and they do not seem to be in close collaboration with the team that we worked with before/during our wedding. Apparently, most of the information that we provided the owner and photographers before our wedding was not relayed to the team that emailed us post-wedding. As a result, we were quoted a different price for an upgrade, certain key photos that we requested in the pre-wedding questionnaire were omitted, and revisions requested for our edited pictures were not relayed. We are not super picky, but noticed that on many of the edited pictures, our wedding party and dog were edited to be much more gray than natural. We provided multiple examples of how cellphone images taken at our wedding looked better than what PKA provided after editing. See below for one example. We got married almost 2 months ago (11/09) and are still waiting on basic color corrections to 250 pictures and our wedding highlight video. Overall we should have 350 edited photos and a five-minute highlight video. So far, there are maybe 20 or so actual good pictures that they provided, but that is not what we paid for. We tried to be understanding of the timeline given the holidays and the fact that the owner said that color correction of melanated skin and also outdoor photos can be more challenging to edit when we brought up our concerns; however the tone of the account specialist is unacceptable. It is clear that the owner has not conveyed our requests to the post-production team, although we have correspondence from a month ago stating that our concerns would be given to them. The accountant specialist is essentially taking out their frustration on the client due to a lack of communication between team members. How could we know that the full team doesn't communicate with each other? We may have to just take a loss and try to get another company to edit the raw photos that we purchased from them. At least we have enough good photos to remember the day even if it isn't how many we expected.

The entire PKA team was absolutely incredible! They captured every special moment and truly brought our photos and videos to life. Our wedding guests were blown away by how beautiful the photos and highlight video turned out. I wholeheartedly recommend Mia, LaRon, and Frankie to anyone in need of exceptional photographers and videographers. We also had LaRon as our officiant, and he had everyone laughing and fully engaged throughout the ceremony. Mia’s positive, energetic, and upbeat spirit was exactly what was needed for such a high-stress day. I was completely exhausted on our wedding day, so much of it felt like a blur—but every time I look at the stunning photos PKA created, I’m instantly transported back to relive those unforgettable moments.

We had the most amazing experience with Mia during our wedding. She was very professional and so kind. I highly recommend PKA Photo and Video for weddings or any type of event that would require photographic or video services. We chose the 3 hour photography elopement package and we ended 200% satisfied. Mia arrived on time and with all her equipment ready to start! She took pictures that fully captured every single special moment of the ceremony. (before, during and after) Our wedding was at the Courthouse and the best part is that she knows all the sweet spots in that place, also has perfect communication with the staff and guides you in every step. So you really feel an added value because it is not only making pictures but also gently providing guidance and advice. We had the first sessions at the Courthouse and the second one was going to be at Balboa Park but due to a local Festival she recommended us to search for plan B (Sunset Cliffs, or Shelter Island) The pics of the sunset were amazing. We enjoyed every click and also our family. Thanks Mia for all your support, for having always a smile , and also your kindness. We highly appreciated that!

Mia out did herself. I went from switching up our wedding in Barbados to a courthouse wedding in San Diego w/ about 4 days to plan. PKA Photo had the only website where I can view the calendar and check their availability immediately AND BOOK their service all w/o waiting for a response from the photographer to see if their available, which can take hours or days, time I didn’t have to waste. Another plus is their incredible work. I loved the style they have. And that last quality that sold me was the price. Convince, style and price are all reasons to use PKA photo. Mia reached out after I booked which I expressed what photo props I plan on bringing and what special moments I want to create and be captured. Mia was thrilled to hear my ideas and was excited to work w/ us. She had excellent communication before, during and after our session. She has a great personality and was a blast to work with. She kicked butt, w/ her skills and time. She was constantly shooting and got us over 800 pictures w/ our 2 hour session. She captured a great variety of backgrounds and poses. I’ve already recommended her to friends and will definitely use her in the future for anniversary pictures. Thanks again Mia, your talent, professionalism and dedication will always be cherished.
