This martial arts place is so good. I just had my first class and I was very satisfied of how hard Coach Angel pushed us but still kept it very simplistic. Very good class and would recommend for all newcomers!

Primetime Martial Arts is a great place that teaches kids lifelong skills. It’s not just about martial arts, it teaches them how to be respectful, have discipline and organization. Teachers are great and they are very patient with students. Highly recommend it!!!

Primetime Martial Arts in San Jose is truly a 5-star gym and an incredible community for both kids and adults. What makes them stand out is their mixed martial arts curriculum that’s thoughtfully tailored by age. They have structured programs starting around age 4 all the way through adults, and each level is designed to meet students where they are. For the younger kids, the focus is on basics, discipline, and fun, while older kids and adults dive deeper into technique, conditioning, and practical self-defense. You can really see how the training builds both self-confidence and real martial arts knowledge at every stage. Coach Apple (the owner) sets the tone for the whole studio with her passion, experience, and positive energy. Coaches Kayne, Angel, and Aaron are fantastic with the students as well—patient, encouraging, and able to push everyone just enough to help them grow. They all do a great job balancing discipline with fun, and they make every student feel seen and supported. The environment is very family-friendly. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable bringing your kids, hanging out, and getting to know other families. The coaches know students by name, and there’s a genuine sense of care and encouragement on the mat. Primetime doesn’t just stop at classes, either. They regularly host events at the studio that bring everyone together, and they actively support the wider community with things like food drives and other charitable efforts. It feels less like just a gym and more like a community hub. One of the things I appreciate most is how they teach leadership and respect. Older or more advanced kids are given the chance to help instruct younger students (always under coach supervision). It’s an amazing way for them to learn responsibility, patience, self-confidence, and how to be positive role models. Respect—for coaches, parents, fellow students, and themselves—is clearly a core value here, and it shows in how the kids behave both on and off the mat. If you’re looking for a place in San Jose where your child can grow in confidence, learn real mixed martial arts, and be part of a supportive community—or if you’re an adult wanting to train in a motivating, respectful environment—Primetime Martial Arts, with Coach Apple, Coach Kayne, Coach Angel, and Coach Aaron, is outstanding. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars.
