This place exceeded our expectations! Wonderful vibe and their service is very thoughtful so that you can just focus on having a good time. Great seating, attentive check-ins, and a good balance of professionalism and fun. The food was amazing! We could see a bit into what the chefs were making through the glass which made it feel authentic. I ordered Spaghetti alla Carbonara and my boyfriend ordered Crudo pizza and they both tasted so good. They were so well balanced and delicious. I also ordered the Carpano Negroni and it was very well-made. My boyfriend ordered the Cappuccino Aromatico and I have never tasted something like it, it was so great. 5/5 experience overall and we will be coming back and recommend you give them a shot if you haven’t! They have a lunch special if that suits you.
We arrived at the restaurant after lunch time. The place was packed! It took us a minute to find someone to get us seated however once we were at the pizza bar, the service was excellent. I had a glass of their house white blend. It was really nice. They have a lunch special that allows you to order to starters and a meal. I had the bruschetta the cucumber tomato salad. My main meal was the most delicious ravioli filled with butternut squash. The sauce was delicious, but the butternut filling made this meal truly outstanding! I have walked by many times before but I will never walk by it again 10 out of 10.
I used to come to pulcinella all the time and I actually loved the owners. I was in the neighbourhood and they had pizza that to my understanding was made with 00 flour which I can eat. My visit today was extremely disappointing as I was informed this is not the case and served a pizza that was gluten free and basically a hard puck that I couldn't even cut if I wanted to with a knife or the cutting tool I was given as they dont cut the pizza. Fine i spent months in italy i realize that -they don't cut it but they also don't serve people hard pucks that are un cuttable. The Brazilian bartender is lovely on a side note and much more pleasant than my server. Adding pictures of how hard and disgusting this pizza was as i am really trying to express that this is a huge shift from the quality of what they used to make and was absolutely gross. I also always felt welcomed here and today was an extremely unpleasant experience and felt not only condescending - but anyone with eyes can see this pizza is completely burnt and hard.
Upon the recommendation of a friend when we were visiting from out of town for a wedding, we ended up at Pulcinella. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. Lindsay, our waitress, was absolutely incredible. She made us feel welcome, offered thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The food was equally outstanding. We started with the bruschetta, which was fresh and flavorful, followed by a perfect margarita pizza. The lasagna was rich and comforting, and the butternut squash ravioli was a standout; delicately sweet and beautifully balanced. Every dish was clearly made with care and authentic Italian flair. Highly recommend Pulcinella for anyone looking for a cozy, delicious Italian meal with top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in Calgary!
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Calgary. I come here every time I crave authentic Italian pizza. Staff is so friendly and welcoming…..and food is OMG!!!! Everything I’ve tried is amazing. My favorite is insalate caprese and Prosciutto E Rucola pizza 🍕 and it has a mini market with Italian produce. Love this place and its vibe.
