When Emily started tutoring my son, he could not sound out the letters of the alphabet , he could not read, and his writing was not that good. One year later, my son can do all of those things; and at 8 years old he is reading chapter books! She has so much patience and she is very kind. Emily does an amazing job at not only advancing kids in their reading skills, but also bring them to a point of loving reading. She communicates what skills that are being worked on each session, and providing resources to continue working on those skills at home. Our son went from hating reading and having a difficult time making it through Bob books with CVC words to reading on grade level and loving/choosing to read on his own.
