came back to purchase these really cute warmers i saw last time i was there, saw everything was on sale so i decided to look at the socks near the register before purchasing, right as i was about to walk up a worker confiscated them from me saying i wasn't allowed to hold them while browsing. she stared at me like i was a thief. really disappointing but i had to leave then because it made me uncomfortable.
This is some of the best vintage shopping in Seattle. There are reasonable prices with frequent markdowns. They actually keep the sizing pretty organized, unlike many vintage shops that go by color or have no visible system. There is always clothing ranging from the Edwardian era all the way to contemporary, 2000s, and costume/rave categories. You have to make an appointment to sell, and they do pay you better than other resale shops. However, these sales appointments are often very far in advance, so plan ahead. It's also extremely dusty inside (don't look under any racks) so wear a mask if you have dust sensitivity or allergies.
I was peacefully shopping here when one of the employees asked me to go try on a long maxi dress in the fitting room. I declined stating I was claustrophobic and would just like to hold it up at the mirror. I quietly proceeded to the mirror to do just that. She became enraged and began getting combative. I told her I just wanted to see how the dress would look. Another employee showed up and instantly defended her not knowing the situation, saying I was disrespecting the initial employee. I asked how of which she couldn't answer. The first employee came over to me and tore the items out of my hand saying I couldn't buy them. I've shopped here many times and the employees have all been friendly. I'm not sure why this one employee was combative but she should be fired for assaulting a customer.
