Having both retired from the private sector, we wanted to get an update on our financial plan for the future. Ayana was very helpful in guiding us to understand our financial plan and provided us with simple, clear analysis and actions. She spent the time to answer our questions in a very client- centric way. Having worked with other planners we found Ayana’s style and analysis much more accessible and as a result, useful to us. Using the services of Ayana exceeded our expectations. Finally we’ve been able to have intelligent conversations about the path forward for our retirement. As small business owners we’ve struggled with Financial Planners that provided incomplete and not actionable plans. It was a relief to finally be able to get to a plan which is financially sound and we have confidence in! Ayana is astute, intelligent, and not tied to selling products. My wife Nancy and I felt we were 3-4 years away from retirement and had received some advice from our stock broker firm but also followed the guidance to seek independent advice from someone who is not motivated by keeping your portfolio business. We are really glad we did as Ayana did a more though assessment and analysis of our situation than the bank. She recommended some immediate tax treatment advice (rrsp vs mortgage payment) that will save us a bundle on taxes and help us retire a year or two earlier. Our working with Ayana was a very wise investment and we will work with her again as we get closer to retirement to refine our model. We highly recommend her advice.

We engaged Ayana to assist with retirement planning, with particular questions around defined benefit buybacks, as well as tax effectiveness for our retirement plan. Ayana was very detailed, and responsive to all of our questions. The value of a 'fee for service' financial planner was proven with her work. We now have a clear plan for when we can retire, based on our lifestyle choices. It was a great experience, my wife, who usually does enjoy investment / retirement discussions really enjoyed Ayana's approach. I have already suggested one of my colleagues engage Ayana.

Ayana was very thorough in her assessment of our finances. She was able to clearly guide us though the process of putting together a financial plan that suited our needs. We also found her advice clear and forthright, without a lot of financial jargon. She is very knowledgeable, but also very warm and personable. We also felt really comfortable not only with the advice we were getting, but also during our appointments, since she was not trying to sell us any products. Ayana gave us concrete steps to get our financial house in order and provided us with additional resources to better educate ourselves on financial matters. This gave us confidence that we have a realistic and attainable plan for meeting our life objectives going forward.
