I absolutely love everything about RUD! The staff aren’t just incredibly talented, they’re truly dedicated to helping every dancer grow, build confidence, and have fun! The atmosphere is welcoming, uplifting, and full of creativity. And Mandy truly sets the tone with her passion and genuine love for what she does and everyone she meets which makes this studio a standout in every way.

This is a truly mission-focused organization, and you can feel it the moment you walk through their doors. Their mission — “WE MAKE DANCE ACCESSIBLE TO AND EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES, BACKGROUNDS, AND ABILITIES” — isn’t just a statement on their website. They live it every single day. RUD is deeply values-based, rooted in authenticity, belonging, excellence, equity, and respect, and those values shine through in every class, rehearsal, and interaction. They’ve created a safe, positive, and genuinely fun environment where everyone feels welcome—whether you’re stepping into a studio for the first time or returning as a seasoned dancer. One of the most inspiring things about RUD is their commitment to accessibility. They award 300+ scholarships every year, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent someone from experiencing the joy of dance. Richmond Urban Dance is truly one of a kind in our community. They serve Richmond in a way few organizations can by bringing people together through the universal language of the arts. RUD creates a space where creativity, expression, and culture are celebrated. Their classes and events unite people from all backgrounds, giving everyone a place to feel proud, included, and inspired. The instructors and staff do more than teach choreography. They foster community, confidence, and connection. It is clear that their work strengthens Richmond and gives artists of all levels a home to grow. I am grateful for the impact they are making and proud to support the people who keep the arts alive in our city. Highly recommend.

This studio has such an amazing atmosphere — welcoming, energetic, and full of positive vibes! The instructors are incredibly talented and make every class both fun and easy to follow, no matter your skill level. I love how creative the classes are and how much variety they offer. It’s the perfect place to learn, move, and just have a great time! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, supportive place to dance! 💃✨

What an amazing place! Every time our family has ever been to an event or class we have had a great experience. It really feels more like home than a dance studio. I always see young people hanging out and it just feels like a safe and warm place in the middle of what can be a crazy city. My kids are older now but I would have definitely sent every one of my kids here for classes. Can’t wait for the next event!
