The school is really easy to deal with. Rob is an excellent teacher, he's provided me with a mountain of useful information. His music theory knowledge is incredibly deep. I'm an adult learner, if you're like me, arriving at a musical instrument late in life, I cannot recommend Rob highly enough.

Excellent Music school. I worked in several music stores as I was a professional band instrument repair technician for about 10 years. The owner Rob is excellent with my daughter. I unfortunately have taken her out as she isn't interested that much in music like I was as a child. We could be moving as well. This school was recommended by other music professionals in other music stores for VERY good reasons. They can tell me this because I'm trusted with the information. The cost of the lessons were pretty close to other decent music schools and some questionable ones. This school only has qualified music teachers that have schooling in music. Just because other stores have a music school doesn't mean all the teachers are qualified to teach. I've heard this music school pays there employees well and has a steady stream of students that keeps them busy. I have no regrets trying to introduce my daughter to piano here. I see lots of smiles when I go inside and a possitive environment. She just has a diagnosis that makes it hard for her to sit for decent periods of time making it hard to learn. When considering this I feel Rob taught her well and she actually has gotten partially through a bit of a music book. Impressed really... knowing my child. Her music grade in school went up as well. I very much appreciate the help and positive environment Rob provided despite her lack of practicing. Her understanding of music has definitely improved and I hope it helps persuade her to learn more musically in the future.

A friend and I transferred to this location after it became apparent that our previous instructor was not a good fit for us. In the time since we started, we've grown to new heights as vocal performers. The instructors are happy to combine our lessons to give us time to work on duets, and we're encouraged to bring in music that we are passionate about (even if other instructors might look down upon it for it not being technically interesting). Tessa is the best music teacher I've had - to the best of my recollection - though she does like her metaphors a little too much.

My son has been taking guitar lessons for 5 years with Rob and he has had learned so much. Rob has not just taught him how to play, but also a lot about the instrument itself and why things work. Rob has given helpful advise as we looked at purchasing new instruments. The staff have been friendly and flexible if we have needed to reschedule, and this year they were able to accommodate my second son starting lessons during same time slot with another teacher so both kids go at the same time which great! Our family is now in our 8th year of music lessons with River Heights School of Music - first my children, and now I am taking lessons as an adult student. During that time we have had a number of teachers (piano, guitar, drums). Each one of them has been not only an excellent musician, but also a great teacher, able to challenge and encourage my children as they progressed. We started with this school because of the convenient location and stayed because we like it! The front desk staff is great too - always friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend River Heights School of Music to anyone of any age who is interested in learning to play an instrument.
