We went swine heavy with bacon involved in several presentations. Deviled eggs three ways? Yes please. Fried procuitto in a watermelon and spinich salad and date wrapped in bacon, yep! Other stand outs the moraccan cous cous and tofu although we felt the za’tar was underrepreresented. Michelle was sweet and you can tell the staff like working here, a testiment to good management. Thank you for your service.
We went early on a Saturday and lucked out with a great table across from the bar in their back room. The tapas was tasty — sticky ribs, tequila shrimp, focaccia bread service, brussels sprouts, and more - perfect portions for sharing. Their sangria was refreshing, but my favorite was "The Price Is Right" — a mix of vodka, blackberry purée, St. Germain, lime, and sparkling wine!
Absolutely phenomenal. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Riverside Liquors & The Restaurant, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the warm ambiance to the outstanding food and service, everything was top-notch. The interior atmosphere is charming, intimate, and full of character. While the entrance may appear to be just a liquor store, the restaurant in the back feels like a hidden gem. It's stylish yet comfortable, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. We were warmly greeted and taken care of by Annabelle, who made our night unforgettable. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm added something special to the evening. She took time to walk us through the menu and offered great recommendations with a smile. The food was exceptional. I had the shrimp and grits, which were creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. My wife chose the red snapper, which was fresh, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The quality of ingredients and care in preparation was evident in every bite. We had heard from several friends that this was one of the best spots in Jacksonville, and now we agree. The pricing is competitive, the service is outstanding, and the full bar has a great selection. It truly offers an elevated experience in a relaxed setting. We will absolutely be returning and will be recommending Riverside Liquors & The Restaurant to everyone we know.
We just left! We actually really enjoyed ourselves. Price is simple and straightforward. The wine is easy to consume and easy on the price as well. We just chose one from the list. I like to do my research prior to investing in a higher priced bottle and they have a large selection of aged wines if you want something not on the list. Lots of older wines at reasonable prices that I would love to get my hands on as well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and easy going feeling as well. I had the shrimp and grits which was extremely tasty along with lamb meatballs which had a spicy kick to them and my mom had the shrimp. Overall a great first time experience and definitely will be coming back.
What a great time we had here. You would not believe what a hidden gem this place is. Go in and just walk around. You will be transported to another place and another time. First, we were greeted by the owner, Victor, and he was a great guy and told us the history of this place, family owned and what he has done and how he has evolved it to what it is today is awesome. Next, the service was the best in Jacksonville. Our server, Annabelle, was a top-notch server and made our night really special. Next the food was really good. We had the mozzarella capresse for an appetizer, and it was amazingly good, and everything else we had was really good. We will be back there!
