I cannot recommend Joe Lewis at the UK Summit Centre highly enough. If I could give more than five stars, I would! We travelled from Italy to the UK with a very tight two-week window to film my son’s rock climbing practical for his IGCSE PE. In a bit of a panic, I emailed 15 different climbing centers across the UK looking for help as we realised the climb had to be outdoors. Being December, it was a long shot, but Joe was the only person to respond. From the start, Joe was incredible. He was already deeply familiar with the IGCSE requirements and offered his expertise for an outstanding price. He was accompanied by a trainee named Zeph, who was also ace—hardworking, very knowledgeable, and a great asset to the team. The morning of the shoot, it was pouring with rain. I was certain it would be cancelled, but Joe and Zeph were ready and undeterred. Joe knew exactly where to go to find a viable climb despite the weather. He took us to Porthcawl, having already researched the specific rock type, elevation, and graded difficulty levels needed for the syllabus. Despite my stress that one day in poor weather wouldn't be enough, we achieved everything we set out to do. Every detail was professionally documented and filmed. Beyond the technical work, they created a relaxed, fun, and professional environment. My son had a blast, and I even had a go at abseiling myself! We will definitely be back under less stressful conditions next time. Thank you, Joe and Zeph, for going above and beyond!

Good climbing walls. Mixture of top ropes and lead available. A small selection of auto belays, and a small bouldering area. Really excellent staff, all very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy climbing here and happily recommend this centre.

Today I visited the centre, it's been over 20 years since my last visit. I am pleased to say i was very impressed with what i saw. Lots of climbs, massive walls and reasonable entrance prices. Cafe looks to offer a great selection of cakes. I certainly plan a return visit.

We come here weekly to visit the cafe for a coffee, hot drinks are always good here. The cafe is dog friendly, there is one unisex toilet and a disabled toilet. There’s outside seating with a children’s play area and also a small soft play area inside. There’s a good selection of snacks, sweet treats, ice cream and soft drinks on offer with some vegan options. Food prices are on the higher side, there’s usually a long wait for hot food items. Important to note that the cafe takes bank card only.
