Terrible experience — unsafe yoga instruction and unreasonable policies I was notified that I made it off the waitlist only 8 minutes before class start time and was still charged when I couldn’t attend. I immediately called and emailed to explain that it was impossible to arrive, park, and be ready in that amount of time, yet I was told a refund was not possible. When the studio called me back, I was told that I should have been waiting at the studio in case I made it into the class. Expecting clients to physically wait on-site with no confirmation of being in a class — and only minutes’ notice — is completely unrealistic and a poor use of people’s time - it’s also disrespectful to client resources. I also had concerns about the class environment and instruction. Participants were performing yoga-based movements without clear alignment guidance, corrections, or modifications. This is especially concerning for beginners. As someone with over 25 years of dance and movement experience in major markets (Los Angeles) at the most successful fitness brands, this approach raised real concerns for long-term joint safety, particularly for knees and hips. I will not be returning and wanted others to be aware before booking.
This studio used to be decent but it now looks and smells like it hasn't been cleaned in years. It genuinely feels like it would be a safety bio-hazard and that I would be risking my health to work out using the studio equipment.
Genuinely so confused and disappointed. I booked a class few weeks ago and showed up at the time it was scheduled only to find out it had been cancelled, and I was not notified. This didn’t happen just once but twice in two weeks where my class was cancelled. I called to ask if I could get my money back, and the call got conveniently “disconnected.” Every time I go there, the front desk is not helpful as they just assume I know where I’m going. The rooms themselves are filthy as well as the equipment. We used wrist weights for one class and mine were peeling and crumbling off during the workout. The ceiling panels have mold spots on them. I’ve gotten other peoples hair on me from what I would assume to be previous classes, and the entire place smells. I know it’s a workout studio, but I’ve been in many that actually smell pleasant and not like human body odor. The monthly memberships are insanely priced considering the entire place looks like it’s been abandoned and forgotten about. If I had been treated better as a customer, I probably would have gone back despite all the other issues with the studio, but no aspect of this place is worth returning to. Customer service needs to be fixed heavily and three gallons of bleach need to be put in each room twice a day. You’re losing customers, and I’m not the only one. Please refund my card
The yoga instructor was good, but the studio is in a declining state both from a uncleanliness standpoint and disrepair. Do they ever clean or maintain the building? Strong stale sweat/foot odor in the stairwell leading to the studio and the studio floors were dirty, problems everywhere my eyes landed: broken door to exterior, water stains on ceiling from leaky roof, scuffed and worn floors, view to outside patio was forlorn - algae growing on the furniture…just unkempt and dirty everywhere I looked. Awful gym housekeeping!.
I had an absolute blast at outdoor rave ride with Jon. If I could rank the class on its own- I would give it a 5/5. Class was so engaging and challenging, and the vibes were immaculate. It really was the closest that I’ve felt to being in a club in a long long time. The music choices were great! And Jon was super encouraging but also gave great form cues throughout. I wish he had taken a little more time with the newbies, but overall it was an amazing class. My only complaint was that class started a little late (but he noted he was holding for the sun to go down so we could have the full rave ride experience) but then he gave some people a little grief for leaving early (on time). The Romney studios were pretty nice. They have a cute little shopping area and an adorable neon sign. They gave everyone shoes and towels for class. After checking in, my friend and I (who were both new to the studio) were not given any instructions on where to go. We were a little turned around, and didn’t know that bikes were assigned. We ultimately found ourselves at the wrong bikes, and a regular class taker graciously corrected us. Not a huge deal- but easily avoidable. The studio cleanliness/upkeep was not as stellar as I might have hoped. The bikes are a little on the older side (totally makes sense as this is a multifunctional workout studio). My towel had some blood on it - and while it had clearly been washed, that was still kind of gross. I told the front desk associate and he threw it back in the wash hamper. In terms of Covid protocol- the big win here was that the bikes were outside in an open air tent. That was awesome! And there was a surprisingly good breeze. The bikes however were not quite 6 feet apart, and no riders were wearing masks. So just be prepared for that when you come to class. Overall it was a great class though- and I’d totally go back!
