It is a great retreat center. Grounds are beautiful!! We had more than one room for the retreat. We were able to set up in other rooms and leave it until needed. I have food allergies and that did not be taken into the meals.
I attended a 3 day art in environmental education pd here. It lent itself well to the environmental theme. The grounds are beautiful biomes. It's peaceful and there's plenty to explore or sit and draw. I loved seeing tons of fireflies on the property due to the forests and open spaces. This is a really special place. The food was amazing! I probably gained weight but it's worth it. The chef in charge created delicious meals and you can taste the care and pride he puts into each dish. We had several people with food allergies in our group and he came out and whipped them up something special to fit their needs and he'd check in after. The rooms were very clean and if an issue came up the staff and the front desk were friendly and promptly resolved the issue. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again I had a great time.
This place is so amazing and beautiful and the staff is simply the best. Karen and Odell were so helpful when me and my parents stopped by to inquire about a wedding for next fall and they went above and beyond to help us.
I stayed for a week-long retreat. Really great food and very friendly staff. The chapel and grounds are breathtaking while the other buildings are dated but clean. Highly recommend walking the nature trail.
First thing you notice is the campus scenery, it is beautiful. There is a modern colonial vibe to the place. You can hear the road but it is far in the distance. There is an active rail line at the bottom of the hill. This would be a good place to leave the tech behind and unplug. There is no tv in the rooms and the twin beds feel like more of a camp. You can tell this place is close to perfect for a religious retreat. The nicest building is the chapel. The place needs some blackout curtains, renovating, and some more activity things to do. This is a low energy place. A running trail with markers could be a cheap upgrade. I came with a conference, but the place isn't built well for large groups that are not staying. Staff seems nice. The place is for non profit, individual, and government reservations. Plan to bring activities for yourself unless you want to vegitate meditate. The place needs some money and maintenance seems lacking. I was told there is a trail into the woods, but i already saw the movie and i know what happens.
