RQAS A really happy vibe. The staff are very kind and welcoming. The society has been running for 135 years in Brisbane. There is always something happening. And the gallery is open Wenesday to Sunday showcasing many artists talent.

I’ve been visiting various art galleries around Australia all of my life. It’s difficult to say which one is the best as they are all exceptional. However Brisbane seems to be my favourite as it is right in the middle of a precinct that buzzes with visual art and presentation. If you are in Brisbane and miss checking South Bank and its treasures. You’ll be poorer forever.

A free-entry art gallery with a high turnover of exhibitions, mostly featuring local artists and quality artworks for sale at very reasonable prices. Always worth popping in to see what's new, and often staffed by a friendly and/or enthusiastic volunteer with a healthy knowledge of art. A refreshing counterpoint to the snobbiness of private galleries and the political preoccupations of public/university art galleries, which wholesomely reminds you that some people just make art because they love art.

Pleasant gallery space. My first visit only. This time offering a curated display of Papua New Guinea Art Exhibition with Artists painting in Port Moresby. A great vibrant display of some of the famed local artisans painting in their unique style. I loved it. Also Tapas Cloth and Billums for those in the know! Watercolour painting group and other workshops are conducted. Street parking out front free for two hours which is very handy! I will visit again if the exhibition theme interests me. You can join their VIP membership for free to get notifications of events, etc. Nearby Caxton Street for a meal or coffee adds to a morning or afternoon outing .
