We do not recommend this photographer for a wedding event. Found Ryan Shiver on Thumbtack. At the beginning Ryan was kind of responsive and easy to work with. We talked about the pricing and what points of interest at the wedding we wanted shots of. I gave him a list of the timeline of photos via the telephone. A basic wedding checklist for photographers. Bride walking down the aisle, Actual ceremony, Bride and Groom with their respective parents, family, etc. On the day of the event he arrived on time. Was friendly and engaging with the guests. Ryan would disappear at certain times. When it was time for the dinner, the DJ announced the Bride and Groom to serve their food. Then the parents, wedding party, etc. etc. Well Ryan was in line right behind the first two parents. The 5th person on line. He was told (as well as the DJ) he was welcome to dinner after all of the guests had served. So that was quite rude and unprofessional for him to be at the head of the line. One of the worst things is his Overcharging us for an extra hour. He stayed at his own will, not approved, and he had the nerve to double charge us. He told us if we didn't pay that charge, we weren't getting the photos. We discussed the charges with him and he went back and forth with bad math. He sent various emails with old information and math errors. Next make sure you have a "printed" list of the shot selections. Ryan was told in our phone conversations what shots we wanted. He never took photos of the Bride and Groom and the Grooms parents. Not a single one. Nor did he take any photos of the Grooms immediate family, etc. Additionally, the ceremony photos were okay. Could have been much better. Ryan must not have taken good notes during our conversations because what was discussed was not included. If you decide to go with this photographer, have everything written. Make sure you keep an eye on him. As I mentioned earlier, he would disappear. When he was done, he just left. Not one word. No one even knew when he left. Book with caution.
Ryan was seriously the best photographer my wife and I could have gotten for our wedding day! Ryan was so friendly to EVERYONE and he defiantly knows what he's doing. I would recommend Ryan to everyone. NOW... PRICING! $$ ...... Amazing price, with all the traveling he does to get to these places he can defiantly charge more but he doesn't. Ryan, thank you for who you are and what you do. From Bride and Groom, you made us feel calm and to us it made our day a blast.
Ryan was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding! We had him scheduled for 4 hours and he took so many amazing photos during that time. Even for our guests that weren't in the more formal family portraits, we have some great candids of them that we will treasure forever. He had everyone laughing and smiling the entire event. He was super communicative, reliable, and his price point is unmatched for where I live. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer.
Ryan was our wedding photographer at our wedding in Saratoga and was brilliant! Very flexible to deal with, reasonable in prices and requests and very easy to organise. Ryan was not only a master behind the camera but also a true professional in every way. He arrived on time, maintained a friendly , fun and approachable demeanor, and made us feel at ease throughout the wedding . He took great pictures and it tells a story which we loved 🥰 Guests really enjoyed his fun demeanor !
Ryan was so amazing. We had him shoot our engagement photos and our wedding and I have zero regrets choosing Ryan. First off all, he has such great positive and fun energy, he was making us laugh during our engagement shoot and during our wedding, he was all over the place taking pics and caught such great beautiful moments. Ryan will be our go to photographer any time we need photos taken! He is truly amazing and his photos came out so beautiful without editing! And that says a lot! So many of our guests commented on what a great photographer Ryan was for the wedding!
