My husband and so saw Cate this evening. Their haircuts are horrible. They’re uneven, choppy and altogether terrible. There are parts that are longer, parts that are shorter and it’s just honestly all over the place. The price we paid should not yield this type of haircut. It’s so frustrating and disappointing. None of us are high maintenance and we aren’t vain, but a choppy, poorly done haircut can just really be upsetting. This is so unfortunate.

I went to Salon Inspire and I’m pretty sure they secretly run on mind-reading and magic. It’s the little details that get you. Before my appointment, I mentioned (probably with a little extra flair) that I prefer a smock over a cape because… yes, I’m a little bougie like that. I’m sure my file doesn’t actually say “high-maintenance diva,” but somehow they still got the memo. The receptionist and stylist made sure it was ready like I was royalty showing up for my throne. Respect. Then there’s the drink menu. Not just “here’s some water”—we’re talking options. When I asked about the mocktail (because I don’t drink), she hit me with, “We might be out—what’s your backup?” That’s next-level planning. That’s “we’ve been through things and we’re not going back” energy. Cate (with a C—important, don’t mess that up) was incredible. She listened, explained everything in real human language, and didn’t make me feel like I needed a cosmetology license just to understand my own hair. Warm vs. cool tones? Got it. No confusing salon dictionary required. Also… she squeezed in a blowout I didn’t even book. That shampoo alone? I almost filed paperwork to move in. If relaxation was a sport, she’d be undefeated. What I really appreciated—no product pressure. She told me what she used, why it worked, and then let me keep my wallet in peace. As someone who tracks numbers like it’s a hobby, that matters. The whole place felt welcoming, genuine, and zero judgment. She even said if I ever wanted to see someone else (there or anywhere), she just wants me to be comfortable. Who says that?? People who actually care, that’s who. Honestly, if I could give more than five stars, I would. I walked out feeling pampered, informed, and just the right amount of bougie. Pretty sure this is the start of a long-term relationship… and I don’t say that lightly about my hair.
