I’ve been to Salon Rose about 4–5 times now, and every experience has been amazing. Kris is always punctual, polite, and extremely skilled and knowledgeable. The vibe in the salon is super cute and high scale, which I love. Kris really locked in with me on my healthy hair journey, and I’m genuinely excited for what’s ahead. Highly recommend if you’re looking for consistency, professionalism, and great energy all in one place.

Ughhhhhh…hate having to write this review because I wanted to love this place but my experience was not good. I honestly don’t think it had much to do with the business but my stylist Ken. Everyone else seemed nice but when Ken started my hair it just felt like she didn’t want to be there. She had an attitude the majority of the time. As she began detangling my hair she told me it would be $15 every 5 min. Which I didn’t have a problem with because she detangled for about 10-15 min max at the shampoo bowl (when she told me I was being charged I started to watch the time). When I wrapped and checked I was charge for 30 min. You do the math. $90 for detangling is absurd when my hair doesn’t even go past my shoulders. Granted my hair is damaged & shed a lot because I came out of braids but this being a salon that specializes in natural hair I felt that I was in good hands and that I would get some recommendations for a routine to help my hair get back healthy. It felt like she was a newer stylist and maybe not as experienced. The way she was handling my hair felt like she was rushing at times. Conversation was minimal and when I tried to ask questions on what I could do to help my hair get back healthy she told me I need to go to a dermatologist. No routines, no recommendations for products or frequency of treatments. I told her I had been in Houston for a while but was having trouble finding consistency with a stylist. That was a perfect opportunity to educate me as a client but I felt dismissed because my hair wasn’t healthy. I thought she would be the expert and be a stylist but it felt like I had to guide her most of the time. The energy I received felt aggressive rushed and made me uncomfortable. Even though this place is less than 10-15 min walking distance from me and would’ve been perfect I guess I’ll continue my search for a stylist elsewhere. The other ladies seemed kind and like they wanted to help from what I gathered but I just didn’t get that energy from Ken. I won’t be returning. All in all I paid $238 for a blowout, protein treatment and “30 min” of detangling. When I asked for clarity about the price when I checked out it seemed like she was giving attitude as well. Overall not a great experience for the price I paid. Won’t be returning.

I’ve visited Salon Rose several times over the past few years and I am always in awe of how well they care for my natural hair. Every experience is a 10/10 with drinks provided during services and recommendations from professional stylists to support your healthy hair journey. I’ve had numerous stylists at the salon wash & style my hair and I’m always satisfied with the result! Run don’t walk!

my experience at salon rose was amazing! the vibes were awesome, from the playlists to conversations with the hairstylists and overall atmosphere. i went to get my first curly cut ever for my 3C curls and got everything i needed and more. my stylist was kristin who took such good care of my needs, eased my nerves, explained and educated me on everything my specific hair needs. i left the salon with super defined, bouncy, healthy hair. it's like i came back to life!! 10/10 recommend.

I appreciate the salon's cleanliness, it's soothing vibe and the professionalism of their receptionist, Brittany. She set the tone in her warm welcome which helped me to relax because I was a little nervous - this was my first visit. Trevonna is an excellent, top tier stylist and I'm very grateful that I was paired with her. Her knowledge of her craft put me at ease and I soon relaxed and entrusted myself to her expertise. And she did not disappoint. Her skill level is immediately apparent and one can relax knowing she will only do what you request and she wants your hair to be as healthy as possible. Overall, I would rate Salon Rose as one the best in Houston and highly recommend Trevonna to anyone looking for a stylist who is extremely experienced, honest and knowledgeable and genuinely desires to give your hair the best treatment that will compliment you and be in healthy condition.
