I’m only leaving a 4 star for the service based on the host named Ari. I had an unpleasant experience with her, she never introduced herself I had to ask for her name and she was unfriendly as well. She was also ignoring all the phone calls that were incoming and it was not even busy, there was only one other family waiting 3 mins after I arrived. I kept calling the establishment beforehand because I wanted to ask if there was a wait, and she never answered the phone. She made the experience sour from the beginning, BUT Joseph one of the managers and my waitress made it better- I’m leaving the 4 stars for them, I’d leave 1 star if this was based on just Ari’s performance. Joseph was very kind and apologized for the hosts behavior, and checked in on my family and I. My server Jennifer was great as well, very attentive and sweet- she’s one of the main reasons I decided to become a Landry member. The food was great, and the service was great thanks to these two( Jennifer and Joseph ). To the owner- please make sure you’re ensuring great customer service when you hire your hostess, because they’re the first interactions for your customers and could ruin the entire experience. I give major kudos to Joseph and Jennifer though and I’d like to pass on the message of how great they were.
The fried pickles and peppers were amazing, the ranch was perfect as well. Happy hour was a perfect excuse to stop by for a ‘Coronita.’ The meal was delicious (had the chicken Laredo). I have absolutely no complaints. Great service too- nice to see. I spent a little more, but that’s because it’s nice to treat yourself once in a while. I had absolutely way more food than I could eat. I was okay with that. :)
When we go in person to the Northwoods location, the food is always good. When we get a DoorDash order, it is NOT. I was so disappointed in my order last night that I felt compelled to write a review. The filet I got was barely 1/4" thick! It was also not done a medium pink, but was grey throughout. The baked potato was dried out and hard. Like it had been previously cooked then reheated. But worst of all was the gross Caesar salad. I had to throw it away. On top it looked slightly better, but the lettuce was a nasty orange and slimy looking. This was before salad dressing was applied. It looked so out of date that I could not believe it. This leads me to think they are passing old stuff out on orders that are going away from the restaurant, thinking that people will not return it, of course. To top it off, the DoorDasher said they lost my order and had to remake it from scratch. I'm thinking this was NOT made from scratch. I am also going to follow up with a phone call to the manager. But I think the public needs to be aware of potential disappointment on delivery meals. For over $50 this was not even close to meeting my expectations. The only thing good about it was the included loaf of bread and condiments.
Sat at the bar and was able to get full service. The bartenders were awesome! Very polite and professional! The new the food and drinks menus very well and made excellent drinks. Even with a full house our food came out hot and was presented well. We really enjoyed the steak bite, really good sauce. My pork chops were perfectly cooked and I loved how crispy the brussel sprouts were. Loaded potato soup was good too. The carrot cake was delicious! Moist, not too much spice, and great cream cheese frosting!
When I called to make a reservation 30 minutes before our arrival, the first person I spoke with was extremely rude and unprofessional. She transferred me to another lady who helped us arrange the time, but I wasn't informed that she was making the reservation. Instead, I received a text with our appointment time. When we got to the restaurant, it wasn't even half full, which was a surprise since the first staff member had told us it would be crowded. Our server was okay, but I felt rushed and she wasn't very friendly. The food, however, was good. I want to thank the cook and the team who prepared the meal.
