Charged me $2500 for allegedly missing bicycle. Stay away from this fraudulent company!
The bicycles worked well and we enjoyed the service until the second check Point when my daughters bicycle locked up in the process of checking in. After numerous attempts to call the phone number given and to get the computer to work, three of us had to leave our daughter to jog about 2 miles back to our car. She did not complain, but she did take a spill while jogging. This experience put a damper on my desire to recommend this service.
Disappointed. I enjoy and believe in cycling. The bikes are not well maintained. The app failed. First it led to a bike station that isn’t functioning. After ride a bike & return docking, the bike app didn’t register that it was returned. It took 5 attempts to call. I was assured it was fixed on their end. I checked out a bike rode to the next station as a test. Again it did not register that the bike was returned. I’ve use BCycle in Denver without issue. Not worth it
Used B-cycle the entire time I was in town for a conference. The app was awesome. Just walk up, select the dock number of the bike you want, and ride off. It was great for transport and site seeing. The city has some nice bike friendly roads and trails. I put about 35 miles on the bikes in 4 days.
This is a great way to explore the city! I highly recommend you keep track of your time though and check in frequently. The caveat with B-Cycle is that you have unlimited 30 minute rides for a whole day. That means you have to check in your bike or else you get charged an additional $2 for every time you go over until a certain amount. Otherwise, if you can keep track of your time, $10 per bike for the entire day is not a bad deal at all. There are plenty of stations to check in, and if you download the mobile application, it shows you a map with every station so that you can navigate your way around Word to the wise if you decide to ride along the bike path south of the River Walk to see the historic San Antonio Missions. Riding against the wind can be a pain if you are not physically fit to do so! Just something to keep in mind if your decide to go for those longer rides. Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend you try this out if you care just wanting to check out the sites without have to drive a car and find parking every single time!
