Compared to Carousels in other cities, this one sucks. $9 for tickets now and the mandatory adult standing next to a kid also must pay the $9. Never seen that before. It’s also a really quick ride. Huge rip-off.

My 4-year-old daughter absolutely loves carousels, and she had a fantastic time at the San Francisco Carousel at Pier 39. She really enjoyed it and had so much fun! It’s a charming and colorful spot that’s perfect for young kids. A great little attraction in the middle of a lively area — definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting Pier 39 with children.

There's something for everyone but definitely appear that you can bring the family for a fun-filled day. I enjoyed the fact that I was there on a budget and was still able to purchase and acceptable amount of souvenirs take back home with me for my loved ones. A variety of different food places, the best of sit down restaurants and fast food eateries . There's a Farmers Market, arcade for little ones, rides for little ones, a plethora of gift shops ranging from toys to souvenirs, high tech gadgets, and jewelry shops. I didn't get to go to the aquarium but for the next visit I definitely have some plans in mind. And last but not least I enjoyed, and the children enjoyed watching sea lions sunning themselves viewable from the pier. FYI directly across the street, very conveniently located, was a parking garage.
