I do street fundraising for animal conservation. We generally get along really well with the local businesses in Portland. Most people know it’s a hard, thankless job to raise money for endangered wildlife. With the deregulation from the Trump administration, we have to work harder than ever to raise funds. It’s really tough being out in the weather all year, but we love our jobs and helping animals. I was on the sidewalk more than 10ft away from the entrance of Say Say (the area where street canvassers are supposed to be working in the city). While I was working a woman on the sidewalk came up to me shaking her said “No No No No!” She walked closer “can you move? I don’t want to look at your face all day”. I asked her if she was the owner of Say Say and she said she was. I promptly said yes and moved at her request and she went inside her store. I was strongly taken aback by her sheer rudeness and attitude. We’ve been politely asked to leave some areas before for one reason or another, and it’s always a “sure no problem, have a nice day from us”. To use that language with a member of the public who’s at their non-profit job is just inconceivable. It’s hard enough standing in the cold all day asking people to donate money for endangered species, it makes it magnitudes worse when a neighbor acts like this to a stranger. If you love animals and hate rudeness, avoid this place and their owner. Edit: Wow. The owner contacted me and accused me of being a man staring in her store window and how inappropriate that was. When I asked for video surveillance from their system to clear things up- the owner strangely didn’t follow up or reference the request. She also told me she sent an “ethics” report to my company because of my review. Very sad to see the bully mentality here instead of reaching out and trying to discuss things amicably. It hurts that this establishment tries to root itself in the community while treating their neighbors so poorly. Avoid this boutique like the plague.

While visiting PDX this weekend, hubby spotted the fun items in the window and insisted we stop by and check it out. This place is a the perfect mix of unique and fun finds that are NOT crazy overpriced! That's hard to find in a boutique. Although we weren't in the market for much today, I did score three super cute pairs of socks (for me and the kids). Price was right, service was fast, and there was even a dog in the store named Lady Bird! A fun visit. I hope the place has success!

SaySay is a gem! It's where I found my style after years of searching. What a great spot! And, a huge bonus, they ship all the way across the country no matter if it's one thing or 10 things all for one price. Woohoo! Can't wait to come back!

Fabulous boutique with non-boutique prices! Very affordable and a lot of the pieces are unisex. Very warm and helpful owner!!
