We can't say enough great things about the team at Scholars in Collars! We enrolled our puppy Lucy in the Level 1 Pet Obedience class, as well as the Puppy Social sessions, and the experience has been amazing. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable and truly passionate about helping dogs and owners succeed together. We are looking forward to attending next levels and learning alongside Lucy! We absolutely love Scholars in Collars! Incredible teachers and support. They train with kindness and positivity and I love how excited my puppy was when she realized it was training night! We appreciated all the guidance and support we received when it was needed. It was also very clear that this is not just a job for the trainers. They truly love what they do and love dogs (and their owners). We plan to continue on to further training.
To say we are grateful to have found Scholars In Collars is an understatement. The minute I spoke to Diane on the phone, I knew we had found the right place. We walked into the facility with two extremely timid and scared Italian Greyhound puppies (and pet parents) and walked out with the confidence and skills that we are able to take with us each and every day so we all continue to thrive. They allowed us the grace and patience to take our time to succeed and reminded us that not all dogs learn at the same pace, and at no time did we feel rushed and pushed to move forward. The online portal modules allowed us to review the class ahead of time as Diane explained and showed us the skill with her own dog, so that we were prepared for the in person lesson and continuing to have this access is invaluable. Diane, Sue and Joan and all the staff at Scholars are not only experienced trainers but more importantly they are patient, caring, and make you feel like you are the only one in the room all the while doing the same for others and with humour to make you feel at ease. They are generous with their time and Diane always answers emails and any questions you may have and never once did I feel like I was asking a silly question. We have taken Levels 1, 2 and 3 at this time and will continue to take classes, refreshers and otherwise. On Sage and Sky's last day of Level 3 (agility) with Sue I was astounded to watch my pups run and learn skills with confidence and full of joy and carefree zommies and at the same time listened and responded to the commands they had learned in previous classes, watching our most (previously) timid pup (Sage) follow Sue unafraid and without second guessing was everything . I cannot thank them enough, the positive change and transformation in all of us is immeasurable and we cannot thank them enough.
We took our first family puppy – a Labrador Retriever – to Scholars in Collars more than 11 years ago. With our new puppy, a Welsh Springer Spaniel, we didn't think twice about signing up with Diane and her amazing team again; no need to look anywhere else! We love the positive training techniques they use. These techniques are fun and easy, quickly effective, and set you up with a dog who is easy to manage and a wonderful family member throughout its life. Diane freely offers her knowledge of dogs and their psychology and behaviours, and we found this invaluable with our previous dog and with this one. We couldn't help noticing there were several staff members from all those years ago still present. It's clear how much they all adore dogs and respect each other. They do their jobs with lightheartedness, laughter, and patience with the puppies – and their humans (who need it most). We also highly recommend the puppy socialization sessions offered separately when you are enrolled in Level 1 classes. Honestly, can't say enough. Sign up!
When we brought our dear Winnie home at the end of January I immediately reached out to Diane at Scholars in Collars to register her in puppy classes. I had attended classes with our previous dog sixteen years ago and knew that her positive training method was the best in the business. I now have unlimited access to training videos for the next year and Diane and her team have provided me with tremendous support. The in class learning environment and puppy playtime not only allowed Winnie to grow into a wonderful companion but Diane and her team have taught my husband and I to be better dog parents. Scholars in Collars is the best, the staff are amazing and Diane is passionate about sharing her knowledge. I would highly recommend Diane and her team to every dog parent!!
